    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train control system that can surely secure safety buffers and perform safe travel control or brake control of a train.SOLUTION: The train control system includes: an on-board device 3 mounted on a train 2 that travels on a predetermined track 1; an on-board wireless device 7 for transmitting/receiving travel distance information and speed information of the train 2 that have been obtained by the on-board device 3; a wayside wireless device 8 that is provided at the predetermined position of the track 1 and transmits/receives information to/from the on-board wireless device 7; and a ground device connected to the wayside wireless device (8). The ground device 9 obtains the position of the train 2 on the basis of the travel distance information and the speed information of the train 2 that are transmitted from the on-board device 3, and sets a safety buffer in the traveling direction of the train 2 and also in the direction opposite to the traveling direction. Each safety buffer is set such that the distance of the safety buffer can only be made longer during a period when the train 2 travels.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-ground device which can ascertain the position of each of trains and transmit train control signals to the trains, even if the trains equipped with on-vehicle devices of different train control systems are travelling on the same rail line (region).SOLUTION: The on-ground device 1 receives a train detection signal (TD signal) from the train equipped with an ATC/TD on-vehicle device by means of loop coils 2-2, and receives a train position signal from a train equipped with a CBTC on-vehicle device by means of railroad radios 6-6. The on-ground device 1 ascertains the position of each train traveling along a route R on the basis of the input train detection signal and the train position signal, generates a set of control information for each train on the basis of the ascertained train positions, and converts the control information into ATC and CBTC signals. The ATC signal is transmitted to the loop coils 2-2by means of an information transmission part 4, and the CBTC signal is transmitted by means of the railroad radios 6-6.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a small and highly reliable device with a high fail-safe performance, by making it possible to compose an ATC device only of a parameter- setting ROM, an operating section LSI and circuits for input and output signals for demodulation of waveform, shaping and amplification.
      CONSTITUTION: An ATC signal received by a receiver 1 from a track circuit is demodulated by a demodulating circuit 2 and put into an operating section LSI 5 as a frequency signal for discriminations of a control speed signal. A speed signal from a speed generator 3 is converted to a speed pulse by a waveform-shaping circuit 4 and put into an operating section LSI 5. The operating section LSI 5, at first, compares the ATC signals with parameters in an ROM, one by one, to determine which one of a plurality of control speeds is designated, generates a reference pattern, which is proportional to this designated control speed, by using another parameter in the ROM 6, and puts into a braking signal by comparing the speed pulse with this reference pattern.
