    • PURPOSE:To transmit additional information independent of ATC information from the ground to a vehicle by adding a function, which performs modulation with a specific frequency on the ground side, and a function which extracts the specific frequency to obtain additional information on the vehicle side. CONSTITUTION:Circuits A1, A2, and B1 are added for the purpose of using an ATC transmission system to transmit additional information from the ground to the vehicle. When a train stop controller does not give a train stop command, a relay CR of the second circuit A2 is always operated, and an additional information input control terminal 14 of the first circuit A1 is closed. If the train enters a pertinent track circuit and is an object of the stop pattern control, a lower- level pattern selecting part 10 selects lower-level one (low-speed control) of the stop pattern based on additional information and a speed pattern prescribed by the code signal of the ATC output, and a target speed 0 is given to a speed checking part; and when the vehicle speed is not 0, a brake command is issued to stop the vehicle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train control system that is able to determine malfunction of a ground apparatus and surely preclude a train from entering a management area of the malfunctioning ground apparatus.SOLUTION: Included are: a vehicle apparatus mounted in a train 2 that runs on a predetermined trajectory; a vehicle transceiver that transmits and receives information of the vehicle apparatus; an along-line transceiver 5 disposed at a ground predetermined position; and ground apparatuses 6 that are disposed in each management area set for the trajectory and is connected, to be able to perform transmission and reception, to the along-line transceiver 5 that belongs to the management area, wherein in the case where one of the ground apparatuses 6 are unable to transmit and receive information with another one of the ground apparatuses 6, the ground apparatuses 6 are determined to have malfunctions, calculates a running distance to the management area of the malfunctioning one of the ground apparatuses 6 such that the train 2 does not enter the management area of the malfunctioning one of the ground apparatuses 6, and transmits the running distance to the vehicle apparatus via the along-line transceiver 5 and the vehicle transceiver.
