    • PURPOSE:To realize simple manufacture of an assist grip of high quality by interposing conductive material, which operates as an electrode part at the time of welding an overlapped part, between sponge material convering a core material and the overlapped part of a covering piece which covers the sponge material. CONSTITUTION:A sponge material 4a is stuck to the back of a core material 1 made of iron sheet through adhesive agent 7, and further, a covering piece 3a made of thermoplastic synthetic resin is fixed to an auxiliary material 5 positioned in the sponge 4 by means of a stitching part 8. The covering piece 3a is provided so as to cover the outer periphery of the sponge material 4a and an overlapped part (a) is provided in a part of said piece 3a, while a conductive material 9 is interposed between the overlapped part (a) and the sponge material 4a. Further, through turning on high frequency electric current between the upper side electrode 6 of a high frequency welder positioned on both sides of the overlapped part (a) and the conductive material 9 at the time of manufacturing, the overlapped part (a) is thermally welded. The assist grip of high quality can be simply manufactured by this method.
