    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a retainer and the retainer which suppress shear droop in a bent part as a flange part without using a divided die and bulge forming which restrain an inner side of an unprocessed material.SOLUTION: A flange part 7a is formed on an end part on one side by pressing and folding the end part on the one side of an unprocessed material 6 inward by an upper punch 33. In this press operation, a small-diameter part of the unprocessed material 6 is retrained from an inside and an outside by a lower punch 31 and a divided die part 32a. Therefore, the flange part 7a can be bend without reducing a thickness of the end part of the unprocessed material 6. In addition, in the bending operation, a peripheral surface part of a projected part 33a of the upper punch 33 receives the end part of the unprocessed material 6 and an outward pressure is imparted on the end part. Thus, a bent part is pressed to a large-diameter part retraining part of a divided dice 32, and shear droop of the bent part is prevented.
