    • PURPOSE:To eliminate undesirable rolling due to meandering and to obtain a rolled product of high quality by attaching a bending-force providing means adjacently to a take-up roll and preventing the meandering of a rolling stock perfectly and easily. CONSTITUTION:The revolving axes 20, 21 of take up rolls 17, 18 are supported by bearings 22, 22, and further bearing boxes 23, 23 are attached to the axes 20, 21 at the outsides of bearings 22, 22 by allowing the axes 20, 21 to penetrate through the boxes 23, 23, and hydraulic cylinder devices 24, 24 and rod parts 24a, 24a are preferably connected to the boxes 23, 23 as the bending means of axes 20, 21. When the meandering of a rolling stock 19 is generated, the actuated forces of devices 24, 24 are transmitted to the rolls 17, 18 through the boxes 23, 23 to provide proper bendings to the rolls 17, 18. By this construction, the tension of stock 19 can be made ununiformed in its width direction, and the stock 19 is moved to the smaller tension side; therefore the meandering of stock 19 is easily prevented by conforming its moving direction to the correcting direction of meandering through said mechanism.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a titled device capable of smoothly and highly accurately correcting the meandering of a running strip by moving steering rolls so that the turning angle of the steering roll of front stage is proportional to the amount of meandering and the turning speed of the roll of rear stage is also proportional thereto. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of meandering correction units constituted of a pair of meandering detectors 6, 7 and steering rolls 4, 5 are arranged in series. The meandering is corrected by slanting the roll 4 around a rotation axis 8 by pushing a wedge 10 with the aid of a hydraulic cylinder 9, and slanting the roll 5 around a turning axis 8 by rolling the rolls 13 of a rotation frame 12 on the rail 15 of a fixed frame 14 with the aid of a hydraulic cylinder 9. A stationary deviation remains in the roll 4 because of its proportional control, and the remaining amount exists at the inlet part of the roll 5, but the meandering is eliminated through the roll 5 because of the integral control of roll 5.

The controlling devices 7, 8 drive the 2nd position setters 3, 4 by driving devices 5, 6 based on said reference quantity. Rolls 1, 2 are moved according to the slant travelling with said method and the slant travelling of the rolling material 16 is prevented.

When a succeeding strip ST having a large crosssectional area arrives and a detection signal of crosssectional area is outputted from a changing-point detector 28, the rotational torque of a looper motor 19 increases and the tension of wire 17 is increased by the movement of drum 18. Accordingly, the slack of a preceding strip ST is eliminated and a running trouble such as meandering is prevented.
