    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caisson which does not float even with buoyancy of underground water when constructing a vertical shaft or a foundation using a skeleton with a weight thereof trimmed within a limit of satisfying a strength condition as a structural body and to provide a construction method for the caisson.SOLUTION: A construction method for a caisson comprises: an installation process to install a skeleton in the ground at a predetermined depth; and a process to construct, after the installation process, floatation prevention members which extend from a side wall of the skeleton towards the ground and are fixed to the side wall. The floatation prevention members prevent the caisson from being floated in a manner that maintains the caisson at the predetermined depth against large buoyancy of underground water acting on the caisson after the same is installed.

Then the friction reducing metallic sheets 21 are progressively unreeled according to jacking and settling of the caisson skeleton 1, and after completion of the jacking and settling of the caisson skeleton 1, the friction reducing metallic sheet 21 are drawn upward.       SOLUTION: In a caisson construction method, a caisson skeleton 3, where the cutting edge 2 of the caisson is formed at its leading end, is provided in an immersed state; mud R inside the caisson skeleton 3 is excavated and discharged; a skeleton 4 is added above the caisson skeleton 3; and a caisson shaft 5 with a predetermined depth is constructed. The auxiliary equipment for the penetration of the cutting edge of the caisson, which is used for the caisson construction method, comprises: a core head 20 for substantially performing auxiliary operations for the penetration; a traveling base 22 which travels on a guide rail 21 in the state of holding the core head 20; a guide frame 24 which is integrated with the guide rail 21; a travel driving motor 25 for driving the traveling base 22; a plurality of frame fixing means 26 which are arranged in the guide frame 24 at regular intervals, so as to fix the guide frame 24 to an inner wall surface 23 of the caisson skeleton 3; and a frame hanging means 44 for holding the guide frame 24 in a hanging manner.
