    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize rush current in driving a load by converting a high voltage into a low voltage, and attain cost reduction and circuit simplification.
      SOLUTION: This load drive includes a first switching element SW1, which is connected to a high-voltage supplying power supply 2 for supplying high voltage as well as a lamp load 6, a second switching element SW2, which is connected to a low-voltage supplying power supply 3 for supplying a low voltage and the lamp load 6, a current-detecting means which detects the value of current flowing in a shunt resistance 23 provided between the second switching element SW2 and the lamp load 6, and a PWM control 22 which turns on the second switching element SW2 to make the low-voltage supply power source 3 start supply low voltage; in the case where the value of current detected by the current detecting means 24 is higher than a predetermined value, it supplies the lamp 6 with low voltage; and when the value of current is lower than the predetermined value, it turns off the second switching element SW2 and drives the first switching element SW1 to start supplying the lamp load 6 with a pulse voltage from the high-voltage supply supply 2.
