    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the accurate shift timing by arranging a hydraulic clutch actuated by a detecting signal of an element position corresponding to a switching mode of a mechanical clutch between the mechanical clutch and an engine, and adjusting the connecting timing of both clutches. SOLUTION: When bringing down a lever 1a of a remote control device 1 to the advance side, a cable stroke adjusting lever 3 rotates clockwise via a remote control side cable 2, a cam part 3a is turned on by pushing in a switch 7a of a sensor 7, and a mechanical clutch 30 transmits/connects an advance switching signal to a hydraulic clutch 20. When returning the lever 1a to a vertical position, the lever 3 returns to a former position, so that the sensor 7 is turned off. When bringing down the lever 1a to the reverse side, a sensor 8 detects switching of reverse to connects a clutch 20. When deflection is caused since a clutch side cable 5 extends, a nut is loosened, and a bolt is move in an oblong hole 4 to correct the deflection to eliminate a timing difference.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain impact at the time of clutch engagement by engaging a shift switching clutch before a hydraulic joint is engaged at low oil pressure and increasing oil pressure up to a set pressure after the completion of the engagement of a hydraulic joint, if an hydraulic clutch (hydraulic joint) provident between an engine and a driving device is broken. SOLUTION: When a remote control lever of a remote control stand 26 is at an neutral position with a shift switching clutch disengaged, a directly connected solenoid valve 23 is turned off and hydraulic fluid from a hydraulic pump 21 is cut off. Therefore, a proportional solenoid valve 24 is off and the hydraulic clutch (hydraulic joint) 13 of a power transfer path is in a disengaged condition. When the remote control lever is shift-operated to the forward side to move a boat body forward in this condition, the shift switching clutch is engaged and the directly connected solenoid valve 23 and the proportional solenoid valve 24 are turned on. As a result, the hydraulic fluid from the pump 21 is supplied to the hydraulic clutch 13, first, at low oil pressure and then at a set pressure, therefore the hydraulic clutch 13 is engaged without impact.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate an intermediate shaft and reduce the longitudinal length of a device by bearing both sides of a support shaft with the elastic bodies of both driving and driven sides and using the support shaft for bearing an elastic body at an intermediate position. CONSTITUTION:One end of a support shaft 35 is so inserted in the inner bush 30 of a rubber elastic body 21a at a driving side as to be freely rotatable relatively and externally engaged with the shaft part 25a of a center coupling 25 in such a way as to be freely rotatable relatively. In addition, the elastic body 21a is supported at the inner surface thereof. The support shaft 35 is made to pass through the second rubber elastic body 21b, an intermediate connection flange 31 and the third elastic body 21c via the inside of the first coupling shaft 29, and coupled into the fourth rubber elastic body 21d via the second coupling shaft 32, similar to the case of the drive side, finally being externally engaged with the center coupling 33 of a driven side. According to the aforesaid construction, it is unnecessary to provide an intermediate shaft and a plumber block for supporting the rubber elastic bodies 21b and 21c arranged at an intermediate position, thereby enabling the reduction of overall length.

    • PURPOSE:To make possible to optionally set a torque limit value of a propeller, and to prevent the propeller from being deteriorated even through it is repeatedly used, by coupling the boss of the propeller rotatably with a propeller shaft through the intermediary of a friction plate type torque limiter incorporated in the boss. CONSTITUTION:Thrust force is exerted to a propeller, a pressure plate 14 is normally urged forward by the urging force of a pre-load spring 15, or the axial force of a clutch, so that steel plates 11... and friction plates 12... make into contact with each other, and therefore, a multi-disc clutch section 13 normally falls into its operating condition. Therefore, a propeller shaft 1 and a propeller 4 are rotated. In this arrangement, a torque limit value is determined by the urging force of the pre-load spring 15 which may be adjusted by shifting an adjusting nut 16 in the axial direction of the propeller shaft 1. Further, when the propeller impinges upon an obstacle so that an excessive load torque is produced, the steel plates 11... and friction plates 12... are slip relative to each other, to disengage the propeller shaft 1 from the propeller to remove the excessive load torque.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly of a coupling and to simplify an assembly work by constructing the full length of a coupling assembly capable of being shortened temporarily by means of screw mechanisms such as bolts, etc., in the coupling arranged between two rotary shafts. CONSTITUTION:Assemblies are constructed by securely fixing an insert 6 to a flange 10 with bolts 12, and an insert 7 to a boss with bolts 22, respectively. Both of the assemblies are connected each other to be able to be movable relatively by means of a rubber member 8. And a gap 40 is formed between the flange 10 and the boss 20. A screw hole 41 is provided on the end of the boss 20, a bolt hole 40 is provided on the flange 10 concentrically with the screw hole 41, and a bolt 45 is inserted therein to be fastened. The flange 10 is thereby abutted to the boss 20 to shorten the axial length (l) of a coupling 5 relative to length as before, so that the coupling can be readily inserted between rotary shafts 1, 2. Later, when the bolt 45 is removed to restore the rubber member 8 elastically, assembling can be easily achieved under this condition by fitting bolts 17, 27 thereto.
