    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly accurate temperature sensor by removing the non-photosensitive part of a photoresist applied to a conductive substrate, precipitating an electrodeposited metal through electroforming, and peeling it to form a resistor. SOLUTION: The surface of a conductive substrate 1 is coated with a photoresist to form a photosensitive film 2, and the photosensitive film 2 is covered with a mask 3, and an entire body is exposed. The mask 3 has the same plane shape as a temperature sensor to be manufactured. Then, a part 2a not exposed because of the mask 3 is dissolve to remove. The photosensed part is hardened as an insoluble film 2b and remains sticking on the substrate 1. Further, the substrate 1 on which only insoluble film 2b remains is subjected to an electroforming process. Thus, a nickel layer 4 as an electrodeposited metal is precipitated on the surface of the substrate 1. Then, the photosensitive film 2 is removed, and the nickel layer 4 is peeled off from the substrate 1, than a resistor for temperature sensor which has the same shape as the mask 3, is finished.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device which can avoid the danger of firing and explosion caused by the misuse (abnormal use) of a battery. SOLUTION: In a safety device 10, lower aluminum foil 4 provided with an air vent 4b on a concentric circle at a center fusing position C is fused to the bottom surface of a metallic case 1, and upper aluminum foil 3 laminated with the lower aluminum foil 4 with an insulating ring 5 sandwiched at their contours is fused at the fusing position C to form a sealed element 20, with a ring-shaped PTC(positive temperature coefficient) element 6 placed on the upper surface of the upper aluminum foil 3 while being sandwiched between the upper surface of the foil 3 and the peripheral edge of a terminal cap 2. If the resistance value of the PTC element 6 increases as the result of the flow of an excess current, a current conducted decreases to prevent damage to a battery. When gas is produced, the gas directly presses the upper aluminum foil 3 through the air vent 4b in the lower aluminum foil 4, exerting a shearing force on the vent hole 4b and causing rupturing of the lower aluminum foil 4. The aluminum foils 3, 4 are separated from each other to shut off a current in a current- conducting path to prevent the temperature of the battery from rising. As the internal pressure further rises, the upper aluminum foil 3 is pressed against the inner peripheral edge of the PTC element 6 and ruptured to allow the gas to leak out.
