    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently charge batteries mounted on automobiles.
SOLUTION: When charging the battery 12 mounted to the automobile 10, a reflectance, namely a deviation of amplitude and phase of a reflection signal to a test signal, is calculated from a test signal output from an oscillator 30 and a reflection signal output from the oscillator 30, reflected by a vehicle-side power receiving unit 14, and detected by a signal detector 32. Then, an inductance of a coil 26 and a capacitance of a capacitor 28 are adjusted by the calculated reflectance so that a loss becomes small when feeding power from the coil 26 of a power supply unit 24 at the side of facilities to a coil 16 of a power receiving unit 14 at the side of a vehicle. After the adjustment, a relay 34 is turned on for supplying power by electromagnetic induction between the coils 26, 16, thus charging the battery 12. As a result, the battery 12 can be more efficiently charged according to a position relationship between the coil 26 of the power supply unit 24 at the side of facilities and the coil 16 of the power receiving unit 14 at the side of a vehicle.
