    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust cleaning catalyst that allows suitable redistribution of platinum present therein, a method of redistributing platinum present in the exhaust cleaning catalyst, particles of a metal oxide catalyst-support for producing the exhaust cleaning catalyst, and a method of producing the particles of a metal oxide catalyst-support. SOLUTION: The particle of a metal oxide catalyst-support includes a first and a second metal oxides and is constituted of a core and a shell each having a mutually different composition. The molar fraction of the metal constituting the first metal oxide present in the core is greater than that of the metal constituting the first metal oxide present in the shell, and the molar fraction of the metal constituting the second metal oxide present in the shell is greater than that of the metal constituting the second metal oxide present in the core. The second metal oxide is selected from the group consisting of oxides of rare earth excluding ceria and oxides of alkali earth metal.
