      SOLUTION: The piston 1A of the internal combustion engine is equipped with a head 2A, a first and a second pin bosses 3, 4 provided in the lower part of the head 2A, first side walls 5A provided on both sides of the first pin boss 3, and second side walls 6A provided on both sides of the second pin boss 4, and has a side wall structure wherein the first and second side walls 5A, 6A are coupled together by inclining them inward as going apart from the head 2A. In this side wall structure, the head 2A and the first and second side walls 5A and 6A constitute a cavity 7A.
