SOLUTION: The rotary sliding member 8 comprises a base material 1 having a rotary face inclined to a center line passing through a point C for rotating around the center line, and a ring-shaped sliding layer 2 formed on at least part of the rotary face and located around a driving shaft. The sliding layer 2 is composed of a plurality of resin sheets 2s arrayed in the peripheral direction and thermocompression-bonded to the rotary face. Preferably, the plurality of resin sheets 2s are resin sheet pieces which have shapes defined by an inside circular arc 22s located at the inner periphery side 22 of the sliding layer 2, an outside circular arc 21s located at the outer periphery side 21 of the sliding layer 2 and having the same center as the inside circular arc 22s, and a line segment 23s and a line segment 24s having both ends connecting the inside circular arc 22s to the outside circular arc 21s without crossing each other.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a slide member which can thermocompression-bond a resin sheet with a good workability by using a resin sheet hewed out in a specific shape when the resin sheet is thermocompression-bonded on the outer peripheral surface of a substrate having a circular section to form a slide layer.
      SOLUTION: The slide member is provided with the substrate having the circular section, and the slide layer formed by the resin sheet thermocompression-bonded on the outer peripheral surface of the substrate. In the manufacturing method of the slide member, a parallelogram sheet piece (except a quadrate, a rectangle) or a strip-shaped sheet having a stepped part at both ends is used as the resin sheet. The size of the resin sheet is easy to adjust, and the resin sheet can be thermocompression-bonded with the good workability. Concretely, when the resin sheet is thermocompression-bonded on the outer peripheral surface of the substrate, the resin sheets do not overlap, no clearance is produced, and the interval of the clearance produced at both ends of the facing resin sheet is controlled. The above-mentioned items can be carried out with high dimensional accuracy.

This sliding member is preferably used in a sliding part of various device, in particular, used as a sliding component of a compressor.
