    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft member constituting an exhaust pressure control valve that effectively reduces noise generated between the shaft member and a bearing supporting the member by slightly improving a structure in the shaft member constituting the exhaust pressure control valve, particularly, in a shaft member freely turnably supporting a main valve, and to provide an exhaust pressure control valve with the shaft member.
      SOLUTION: The shaft member 10 constitutes the exhaust pressure control valve. In part of or all of a surface layer of a shaft member body S constituting the shaft member 10, a first coating 1 consisting of titanium nitride is formed at least in a sliding area Sa of the body, and a second coating 2 constituting of titanium oxide which is produced by oxidizing the titanium nitride is formed on a surface layer of the first coating 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the piston for internal combustion engine and the method for manufacturing the same characterized in that cracks are hard to occur on an interface between a sintered body on a piston top and a piston base material with the interfacial strength enhanced, and the combustion of a fuel within a combustion chamber is promoted to a great extent as the sintered body is possessed of a lower heat conduction as required.
      SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of: making a first compression-molded body to form a first sintered body 1; making a second compression-molded body to form a second sintered body 2 around the first sintered body 1 so as to make a compression-molded complex body to form a complex sintered body 3; sintering the compression-molded complex body so as to make the complex sintered body 3; and impregnating and solidifying a melted piston base metal into a surface of the second sintered body 2 opposite to its surface facing a combustion chamber, thereby, casting the complex sintered body 3 on a top surface of the piston 10.
