    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize the structure of a head rest even when the head rest for supporting the back of the head of an occupant by operating an inflator when rear end collision occurs on a vehicle is provided.
      SOLUTION: The vehicular seat is provided with: a seat cushion; a seat back 2; and the head rest 3, and when the rear end collision is generated on the vehicle, lock releasing of a lock mechanism R provided on the head rest is performed by operating the inflator. By the locking releasing, a portion 24 for supporting at least the back of the head of the occupant of the head rest 3 is popped out toward the back of the head side of the occupant. The head rest 3 is assembled to the seat back 2 through a stay 22, and a body 52 of the inflator 50 is assembled to an end part at the seat back 2 side of both end parts of the stay 22. When the inflator 50 is operated, lock releasing of the lock mechanism R is performed through a transmission member 36.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper back structure of a vehicle for ensuring the torsional rigidity of a body without using a reinforcement member and improving steering stability in a body structure employing a trunk-through structure.
      SOLUTION: A channel-shaped package tray bracket 26 is provided on a package tray bracket sub-assembly 20, an upper back inner panel 40 of an upper back bracket sub-assembly 22 is formed into the same channel shape, and overlaps right and left brackets 26. A lapping margin layer than a connectional one is secured, and spot welding is performed in two rows. A thickness increasing effect is expected because the bottom wall 40A side of the upper back inner panel 40 is three-folded. Shear strength around an opening 14 is enhanced, and the torsional rigidity of the body and the steering stability are improved without using a reinforcement member.
