SOLUTION: In this air filter 1 comprising a filter element 4 in which a ribbed filter part 5 and a flange part 6 arranged on the periphery of the filter part 5 and having seal action are integrally formed of the same material, a cap 3 having a flange part 33 holding the flange part 6 of the element 4, and a case 2 having a flange part 23, either one of the flange part 33 of the cap 3 or the flange part 23 of the case 2 is equipped with a projected part 26 having slant parts 27, 28, and the flange part 6 of the filter element 4 is equipped with a recessed part 64 brought into contact with the slant part 27 of the projected part 26, guided along the slant part 27 and fitted around the projected part 26 at a predetermined regular position so as to be positioned.

SOLUTION: In this evaporated fuel adsorbing device provided in at least a part of the intake system, both back and front sides of a granular adsorbent 100 like active carbon are clamped with two sheets of nonwoven fabric 101 having permeability, and outsides thereof are clamped with two honeycomb-like plates 102 to surely fix and support the adsorbent 100 in the case 103. The nonwoven fabric 101 or the like can also serve as an air cleaner element as a filter medium, and in some embodiments, the nonwoven fabric may be pleated and the adsorbent can be held in the space of the pleat. SOLUTION: A flange part 20 integrally formed on the outer peripheral edge of a filter part 10 having plural corrugated bag parts of a filter element consists of plane parts 21, 22 and a raised part 23 having a V-shaped section, and the whole area thereof is sufficiently hardened by a heat press and formed hard like a resin. A seal material 30 consists of annular inner heat weld part 31, an outer heat weld part 32, and a central seal part 33. The flange part 20 and the seal material 30 are welded and integrally formed. In this way, a gap for fitting an air cleaner having the same size as that of the conventional produce is filled up with the flange part 20 of the filter element 100, and the filter element 100 has the interchangeability between it and the conventional product.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent outflow of fuel vapor to the atmosphere and to prevent clogging due to dust and damage of a filter by backfire, in an air cleaner for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A sheet-shaped adsorption filter 20 for holding granulated activated carbon 22 by heat resistant net 26 and unwoven fabric 24 having porosity set to 90% or more is arranged on the internal combustion engine side of a filter element. Gasoline vapor evaporating after adhering to the inside of an engine when stopping the engine enters the air cleaner but does not flow to the atmosphere because gasoline vapor is adsorbed by granulated activated carbon 22. When backfire is generated, damage of the unwoven fabric 24 and the filter element is prevented because passing of fire is prevented by the heat resistant net 26. The porosity of the unwoven fabric 24 is set to 90% or more and thereby clogging due to dust can be prevented.

In this case, a drain part 14 made by fixing a planar porous material 13 to a receiving seat 12 provided inwardly on a bottom side wall part of the clean air chamber 11 from the inside is formed at the bottom side wall part. As a result, stored moisture can be discharged, preventing entering of dust within the clean air chamber 11, moisture evaporation is promoted by exhaust heat of an engine and drain efficiency can be improved.

That is, the molding material prepared by mixing the solid fine powder in the melted synthetic resin is filled in a molding space of a molding machine to mold the intermediate molding and the intermediate molding is cooled and taken out from the molding machine. And the filter body 1 of the porous body is formed by dissolving to remove solid fine powder in the taken out intermediate molding into a dissolving liquid to elute from the intermediate molding.

The fuel vapor confined in the intake pipe 5 is adsorbed by an adsorbent in a usual canister 2 through a normally opened type bypass valve 8. Although a blowby line 10 is also connected with the intake pipe 5 closed with the shut valve 14, since it is blocked with a normally closed type blowby valve 11 during the stop of the engine, there is no possibility of the blowby gas flowing into the intake pipe 5 to fix the shut valve 14, a throttle-valve 12 or the like. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently adsorb the evaporated fuel of an internal combustion engine and to efficiently eliminate the evaporated fuel from a fuel vapor adsorbing device even in an operating condition of small intake air quantity. SOLUTION: An adsorbing material 31 such as active carbon is mounted in a part of an intake passage 2, for example, inside of an air cleaner 21 to efficiently adsorb the evaporated fuel. In order to efficiently eliminate the evaporated fuel adsorbed to the adsorbing material 31 even in small intake air quantity, an intake throttle valve 61 is mounted at an upstream side of the adsorbing material 31, and the pressure near the adsorbing material 31 is reduced by throttling an opening. The elimination can be accelerated by directly heating the adsorbing material 31 in the intake passage by some heating means, or indirectly heating the adsorbing material 31 by heating the intake air.
