    • PURPOSE:To provide a grinding wheel truing device, which can true a grinding wheel without receiving the bad influence of backlash or the like, by eliminating the reversal of a grinding wheel in the moving direction during the truing operation. CONSTITUTION:A grinding surface 1a, which has a semi-circular cross section, of a grinding wheel 1, of which maximum outer diameter exists in the central part of the axial direction, is cut from the left side edge of the grinding wheel 1 to the central part of the axial direction by the turn of a truing roll 2 and the movement and the lowering of the grinding wheel 1 in the axial direction on the basis of a first truing program 51 provided in a memory device 31 of a numerically controlled device 31, and thereafter, the grinding surface 1a is cut from the right side edge of the grinding wheel 1 to the central part in the axial direction by the turn of the truing roll 2 and the movement and the lowering of the grinding wheel 1 in the axial direction on the basis of a second truing program. Reversal of the grinding wheel 1 in the moving direction during the truing operation is eliminated by dividing one time of truing operation of the grinding surface 1a into a left side part and a right side part.

    • PURPOSE:To correct errors due to charge in temperature when the tooth surface of a cylindrical worm shaped grinding wheel is corrected. CONSTITUTION:The temperature Tt of a cylindrical worm gear shaped grinding wheel 27 is detected by a first temperature sensor 61, and the temperature Tm of a drive means (made up of a motor 41, a ball screw 42, and of a ball nut 43) for driving the grinding wheel 27 in the axial direction is detected by a second temperature sensor 62. A relative feed per tooth L between the grinding wheel 27 and a truer 25 is corrected at the time of truing based on both the temperatures Tt and Tm in such a way that a relative moving lead between the grinding wheel 27 and the truer is equal to the lead of the grinding wheel 27. This constitution thereby allows each addendum of the truer 25 comes in contact with both the surfaces of each space of the grinding wheel 27, so that truing is thereby accurately carried out regardless of change in temperature. The same method can be applied to the case of dressing.

    • PURPOSE:To absorb a deviation between the front end position and rotary center of a grinding wheel correcting roll by moving a grinding wheel in association with turning of the grinding wheel correcting roll. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel correcting device is composed of a first computing means 130 for calculating an abrasion wear of a grinding wheel 16, a second computing means 140 for calculating an abrasion wear of a grinding wheel correcting roll 23, a third computing means 150 for calculating data for the front end position of the grinding wheel correcting roll 23, and fourth computing means 160 for calculating data for a shape to be corrected of the grinding wheel 16, fifth computing means 170 for preparing truing data in accordance with the data for the front end of the grinding wheel correcting roll 23 and the data for a shape to be corrected of the grinding wheel 16, and a control means 180 for controlling a drive means 110 so as to turn the grinding wheel correcting roll 23 in accordance with the truing data. Thus, a moving means 100 is controlled in accordance with the truing data so as to move the grinding wheel 16 in Y-and Z-axial directions in order to correct the outer periphery of the grind wheel 16 by means of the front end of the grinding wheel connecting roll 23.
