    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide underwater welding equipment with which intrusion of water from the outside of a shielding cover is prevented and water including metallic dust intruding in the shield cover and shield gas are discharged surely and easily.SOLUTION: The underwater welding equipment includes: an underwater welding head 11 which is arranged underwater and in which a nozzle part 16 for emitting a laser beam is provided at the tip thereof; a shielding cover 18 which is provided in the periphery of the nozzle part 16 and composed of an elastic member, and with which a space where the water is removed by shielding gas is formed on the side of the tip of the underwater welding head 11; and an expansion/reduction valve 21 on which a discharging hole for discharging water including metallic dust and the shield gas from the inside of the shielding cover 18 is formed, the size of the discharging hole is expanded by pressure rising inside the shielding cover 18 and the size of the discharging hole is reduced by the pressure drop thereof.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute maintenance/repair work over a wide range in a bottom section of a reactor core by a single unit, simplify a main body of the unit, reduce costs, reduce the number of times of setting up the main body of the unit and raise the efficiency of work required for positioning. SOLUTION: The in-furnace maintenance/repair apparatus is installed in the core of a pressure vessel of a boiling water reactor to execute improvement of residual stresses in a structure in the reactor core, modification of the surface, welding repair and the like by projecting a laser beam to a structure in the bottom section in the reactor core. The apparatus comprises a turning mechanism 101 accommodated within a case, a lifting mechanism 108 turnably connected with the turning mechanism, a laser oscillator 118 accommodated in a hydraulic pressure-proof vessel guided by a support supporting the lifting mechanism and capable of bing turned by the turning mechanism and lifted/lowered by the lifting mechanism, a light guide tube 121 connected with a laser output port of the hydraulic pressure-proof vessel to aerially transmitting the laser beam emitted from the laser oscillator 118 toward the structure in the bottom section of the reactor core and an arm mechanism 116 having a laser projecting head secured on the tip end of the light guide tube 121 to project the laser beam transmitted through the light guide tube toward the structure in the reactor core.
