摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon carbide material, which is hardly reacted with heat-treated materials and is lightweight and of which ceramic-sprayed film is hardly stripped. SOLUTION: In manufacturing the silicon carbide material, a ceramic-sprayed film 4 with multiple layers, of which the outside layer is the zirconia ceramic- sprayed film, is formed on part or all of surface 3 of a substrate 2. The substrate 2 is made of atmospheric pressure sintering silicon carbide with porosity of 0.1% or less and central line average height in roughness (Ra) of 3-15 μm at the surface 3.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for casting, with which at the time of pouring molten metal such as molten steel into a mold, such trouble as clogging in the inner hole of a nozzle is avoided and also, fluid condition of the molten metal such as the poured molten steel in the mold is suitably controlled and thus, excess disturbance and variation of the molten metal surface are avoided and in this way, a metal cast such as high quality steel ingot can be obtd. SOLUTION: An immersion nozzle 1 for pouring molten metal into mold, is provided with an inner hole 2 for passing the molten metal and a molten metal spouting part 4 having plural opening holes formed in the molten metal flowing passage communicated with the end part of the inner hole part 2, and in the outer peripheral wall of the nozzle. A step part 3 is formed in the inner hole 2 of the nozzle and also, the horizontal cross sectional shape of the molten metal flowing passage in the spouting part is formed as a sector shape from the inner hole side to the opened hole.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method for evaluating the physical properties of a regular shape refractory product composed of more than one kind of material having different thermal conductivity nondestructively and accurately by heating the refractory product up to a predetermined inspection temperature and making an evaluation based on the temperature distribution shown by a thermographic image. SOLUTION: A thermography performs noncontact measurement of infrared energy radiated from a regular shape refractories to determine the infrared intensity distribution, i.e., the temperature distribution, imagewise. Obtained data is delivered to a data processing section in order to evaluate the physical properties of the regular shape refractories. Since the infrared wavelength region to be observed can be limited, reliability of measurement can be enhanced and since the data can be preserved, measurement conditions can be generalized and a long term evaluation can also be made. A given temperature variation is imparted to an object and the heat shock resistance is evaluated, based on the variation data of temperature with time for the entire object. When the shape or the material of a refractory product is modified, the effect of modification onto the heat shock resistance can be evaluated nondestructively.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the spouting flow speed of molten metal spouted from a nozzle under controlling and to restrain the development of defect caused by enclosure of inclusion into the molten metal by arranging many small holes on the inner peripheral surface of the nozzle, injecting gas from the small holes and developing stirring circular flow to the molten metal flowing down in the nozzle. SOLUTION: A ring 1 having many small holes 6 in the inner peripheral surface 8 is set to a nozzle fitting part of the immersion nozzle 5. Slits 2 for introducing gas are arranged between the nozzle fitting part and the nozzle 1, and the gas is introduced from gas injecting hole 3 to give the circular flow to the molten metal flowing down the immersion nozzle 5. The molten metal is flowed out into a mold from a molten metal spouting hole 4 through a molten metal passing-through hole 7 in the immersion nozzle 5. The small hole 6 is desirable to incline to the molten metal passing-through hole 7 in the immersion nozzle 5 in the horizontal plane. At the time of stirring and circulating the molten metal, the max. spouting speed is reduced and the suitable spouting molten metal is uniformized and flowed into the mold as the static flow and the variation of the meniscus can be prevented.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the temp. difference between the molten metal at the wall side and the molten metal at the center side of a mold and to prevent the surface defect in a cast slab and the defect of internal segregation, etc., by enlarging circularly the diameter of a cylindrical wall in the lower end part of a nozzle dipped into the mold and opening the internal between the nozzle and the mold wall to a specific value. SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle 101 for continuous casting is constituted of a straight tube shape upper end part 1a, a bugle state intermediate part 1b connected with the upper end part 1a and a cylindrical lower end part 1c connected with the intermediate part 1b. The lower end part 1c is dipped into the molten metal 4 in the mold 3 to execute continuous casting. The size of the lower end part 1c is decided so that the shortest interval between the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical wall at the lower end part 1c and the inner peripheral surface of the mold 3 becomes 10-50 mm. A truncated conical body-shaped flow guiding part 6 is arranged at the center part in the lower end part 1c, and the cross sectional area of a molten metal flow passage around the flow guiding part 6 is desirably 80-200% of the cross sectional area of an nozzle hole 2 at the upper end part 1a.
