摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a thermal impact at an initial stage of molten steel injection and to restrain generation of cracks on a nozzle inner surface in a vertical direction and others by installing a thermal impact softening inner layer material of a given thickness, formed by baking a refractory powder material mixed with a varnish as a binder, to the inner hole side of a nozzle becoming a molten steel flow passage. SOLUTION: A refractory powder substance to form an inner layer material is at least one kind chosen from an alumina-graphite foil, a zirconia-graphite foil powder material. Also, an adding binder is made to be an ethylene glycolic varnish. Forming of an inner layer material is carried out as follows: A varnish is added at an outer ratio of 20-50 weight part to a refractory powder substance 100 weight part, and agitate them with a solvent. A heated mandrel is then dipped and, after a refractory formed substance is formed to the mandrel periphery, it is backed into an inner layer material of 2-5 mm thickness. At this time, a solvent should be at least one kind among ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, methyl Cellosolve and ethyl Cellosolve.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nozzle which has no problems such as the longitudinal crack caused by thermal stress developed in the initial stage of casting and sufficiently copes with change of using condition, by arranging a heat-insulating ring to a molten metal hitting part at the time of allowing the molten metal to flow into a molten metal discharging nozzle to be used without preheating. SOLUTION: A recessed part 3 is arranged at the position corresponding to the molten metal hitting part at the initial stage of casting in the immersion nozzle or the long nozzle and on the inner hole part of the nozzle near this position, and the heat-insulating ring 2 is set therein. A gap is created between the heat-insulating ring 2 and the nozzle by preparing the heat-insulating ring 2 as the separating body from the nozzle, and the heat-insulation is improved and the heat shock developed at the molten metal hitting part and in the vicinity thereof is once hindered with the heat-insulating ring 2 and the development of the longitudinal crack and the other crack in the nozzle caused by the rapid temp. gradient is prevented. The material of the heat-insulating ring 2 is desirable to have lower heat conductivity than that of the nozzle body 1, but since the heat-insulating effect of a little gap is produced, even the same material as or the one having higher heat conductivity than that of the nozzle body 1 can be used.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the temp. difference between the molten metal at the wall side and the molten metal at the center side of a mold and to prevent the surface defect in a cast slab and the defect of internal segregation, etc., by enlarging circularly the diameter of a cylindrical wall in the lower end part of a nozzle dipped into the mold and opening the internal between the nozzle and the mold wall to a specific value. SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle 101 for continuous casting is constituted of a straight tube shape upper end part 1a, a bugle state intermediate part 1b connected with the upper end part 1a and a cylindrical lower end part 1c connected with the intermediate part 1b. The lower end part 1c is dipped into the molten metal 4 in the mold 3 to execute continuous casting. The size of the lower end part 1c is decided so that the shortest interval between the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical wall at the lower end part 1c and the inner peripheral surface of the mold 3 becomes 10-50 mm. A truncated conical body-shaped flow guiding part 6 is arranged at the center part in the lower end part 1c, and the cross sectional area of a molten metal flow passage around the flow guiding part 6 is desirably 80-200% of the cross sectional area of an nozzle hole 2 at the upper end part 1a.
