摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition improving residual image of a liquid crystal display, and to provide a liquid crystal display including the same.
SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a pair of field generating electrodes formed on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer comprises a liquid crystal composition that includes a first class having at least one fluorine atom, and a second class containing a neutral compound. The second class includes a first component and a second component. The first component contains a liquid crystal compound having at least one selected from an alkyl group and a 1-5C alkoxy group in a terminal group thereof. The second component contains a liquid crystal compound having a 1-5C alkenyl group in terminal groups thereof. The second component is contained in a content of about 7 wt.% or less of a total content of the liquid crystal composition.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition capable of inhibiting decrease of voltage maintenance ratio of a liquid crystal display device and hence improving after image, and to provide a liquid crystal display device comprising the composition. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition contains the first group comprised of a fluorine-containing liquid crystal compound represented by general formula (I), wherein, n is 1, 2, or 3, and the second group comprised of a neutral liquid crystal compound represented by general formula (III), wherein, W 1 and W 2 each is -F etc. and a liquid crystal compound represented by general formula (I), (III), etc. has H, a 1-12C alkyl group, etc as a terminal group, and contains the second subgroup of not more than 6 wt.% to the total content of the first and second groups, provided that a liquid crystal compound of the first group of n=1 is put as the first subgroup and a liquid crystal compound of the first group of n=2 or n=3 is put as the second subgroup.
