SOLUTION: A magnetic recording and reproducing device is so arranged as to carry out recording and reproduction of information signals to a magnetic tape by rotation of a rotary head drum by pressing a transmission arm 55 on an input shaft part 52 of a tape guide block 45 with a tape guide 44 erected thereon, to moving the tape block guide 45 to pull out a part of the magnetic tape housed in a tape cassette and wrapping it around a rotary head drum, and positioning the tape guide block 45 by pressing it in contact with a positioning screw 47 provided on a fixed chassis to which the rotary drum head is attached. The part in contact with the transmission arm 55 of the input shaft part 52 is provided with an upwardly tapered part 56, so that the taped part 56 is pressed by the transmission arm 55.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of tape running with a simple constitution by arranging a rotating body pivotally supported by a bearing so that its axis of rotation is inclined in the center direction of a tape lead part and forming the center part of the tape lead part to a projecting shape relatively to the track of magnetic head rotation. SOLUTION: A fixed shaft 12 is fixed to a lower fixed drum 11 at a prescribed angle θ to the center of a tape lead part 18 with respect to a reference line Z perpendicularly extended from the center of the lower fixed drum 11 and is inclined with the intersection between a rotation axis Y of a magnetic head 15 and the reference line Z as the center. When the magnetic tape is run, the tape lead part 18 has a projecting shape having a prescribed extent of projection (h) to form the prescribed angle to the track of running of the magnetic head 15, and the fixed shaft 12 is inclined in the center direction of the tape lead part 18. Consequently, the tape doesn't come close to the tape lead part 18 more than necessary on the tape entrance side and exit side of the tape lead part 18, and contact is prevented to stably run the tape.
