    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the bending strength of an SiO2 -CaO-based solidified material by treating a mixture of a CaO-based substance with an MgO-based substance and an SiO2 -based material in a specific proportion with an autoclave and solidifying the treated mixture. SOLUTION: This CaO-MgO-SiO2 -based solidified material is obtained by treating a mixture containing a CaO-based material, an MgO-based material and an SiO2 -based material with an autoclave and solidifying the mixture. The solidified material has 3.7-50% (C+M) and >=0.3C/(C+M) when the sum total weight content of the three of CaO, MgO and SiO2 in the solidifying raw material is 100%; the weight percentage of the CaO accounting for the total 100% of the three is C% and the weight percentage of the MgO therein is M%. Since the SiO2 -based material is more inexpensive than the CaO-based substance and the MgO-based substance, the amount of the SiO2 -based substance is preferably increased as much as possible. The resultant solidified material, as necessary, is dried under suitable conditions and utilized as various construction and civil engineering materials, etc. The solidified material is especially preferably used as an interlocking block.

    • PURPOSE:To excellently suppress shrinkage in a drying and a burning processes after extrusion molding without exerting an undesirable influence on extrusion characteristics by blending a hydrous raw material blend for extrusion molded article of ceramics with wollastonite. CONSTITUTION:In production of an extrusion molded article of ceramics by extrusion molding a raw material blend in a given hydrous state and drying into a product, the raw material blend is mixed with 3-20% wollastonite having >=2 aspect ratio. The wollastonite used is a needle-like crystal. When the wollastonite is mixed with the raw material blend and extrusion molded, the wollastonite of needle-like crystal is orientated in the direction of extrusion, prevents reduction in extrusion characteristics, improves the extrusion characteristics and suppresses shrinkage in a drying and burning processes. The wollastonite has a merit of absence of projection as chamotte, quartz, etc., caused by reaction in burning ceramic wares.

    • PURPOSE:To readily obtain multicolor design having alternately varied coloring design by applying glaze in which color is changed by melting with heating in specific gas atmosphere on the surface of substrate material and irradiating the applied glaze with laser light while alternately varying said atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Glaze varying color by melting with heat in an atmosphere of gas selected from gas reactive with glaze component and inert gas is applied on the surface of substrate material to be glazed. Next, the glazed surface is irradiated with laser light while alternately varying at least two species of gas atmospheres covering said surface coated with glaze to afford the aimed multicolor design. As said substrate material, all of the substrate materials such as porcelain, ceramic article, metallic article or cement substance, etc., capable of glazing are able to be used. In a case of cement substance molded article, however, as thermal deterioration may be generated at glazing, at least the surface layer to be glazed is preferably hydraulic cement or cement substance composed of powder material vitrifying by melting in an effective amount for sintering.
