    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for working fine recessed parts, wherein fine recessed parts can preciously be formed on the outer circumferential face of a columnar workpiece or on the inner circumferential face of a circular hole in the workpiece, and the working time can be shortened drastically.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a working zone 10 with several fine projecting parts high in hardness provided on the surface; and a press roller 5 capable of pressing the working zone 10 against the outer circumferential face Wo of a workpiece W.       SOLUTION: The apparatus of working fine shapes is constituted so that fine recessed parts are worked by pressing a cylindrical tool member against the surface of a material to be worked.       SOLUTION: The invented minute concave forming device 1 is equipped with: a tool holder 10 which is rotationally driven coaxially with a cylinder bore B; a roller supporting member 12 which is movable in the diametral direction of the tool holder 10; a form roller 13 which is free to rotate with regard to the roller supporting member 12; a first compression coil spring 18A which presses the roller supporting member 12 in such a direction that the form roller 13 advances to the inner circumferential face of the cylinder bore B; and a second compression coil spring 18B which presses the roller supporting member 12 in such a direction the form roller 13 backs off the inner circumferential face of the cylinder bore B. The invented device 1 can form minute concaves which are uniform in size and depth, with the rotation of the tool holder 10 offsetting at least centrifugal force acting on the form roller 13.
