    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a container for a reducing agent which exhibits a function as an exhaust emission clarifier in a short time after starting engine.
      SOLUTION: On the top face of a container body 24A, at least the base section 38A of a water level gauge 38 for detecting the residual quantity of the liquified reducing agent, the base section 40A of a densitometer 40 for detecting the concentration of the liquified reducing agent, a heat exchanger 44 which performs a heat exchange between the liquified reducing agent and engine cooling water which is circulated while surrounding detectors 38B and 40B of the water level gauge 38 and the densitometer 40, respectively, and a suction pipe 48 which sucks in the liquified reducing agent from the bottom section of the container body 24A which is located between the water level gauge 38 and the densitometer 40 each are mounted, and in addition an approximately boxy protector 50 is disposed such as to surround the water level gauge 38 which is located in the lower part of the heat exchanger 44, the densitometer 40, and the suction pipe 48. Heat discharged from the lower part of the heat exchanger 44 is trapped within the interior of the protector 50 to develop convection therein, whereby the liquified reducing agent which is frozen in the surrounding areas of the water level gauge 38, the densitometer 40, and the suction pipe 48 is efficiently defrosted.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize suitable operation of an exhaust emission control device by performing a suitable corresponding treatment based on basic information detecting abnormality in concentration in the exhaust emission control device for reducing and removing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emitted from a diesel engine, a gasoline engine, etc. installed in a moving vehicle by using a reducing agent.
      SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device supplies urea water in a storage tank 20 to an exhaust gas upstream of a reducing catalyst 3 disposed in an exhaust system of the engine 1. A concentration detector 60 is disposed in the storage tank 20 to detect the concentration of the urea water, which is used as the basic information for a suitable NOx reducing action. A heat exchanger for heating and/or cooling the reducing agent in the storage tank 20 is disposed on a periphery of the concentration detector. The exhaust emission control device can suitably be operated by performing the suitable corresponding treatment based on the basic information detecting the concentration fault by knowing the reducing agent concentration in the storage tank. As a cold season countermeasure, the concentration of the reducing agent is detected certainly, and the reducing agent can be supplied stably. Further, as an intense heat season countermeasure, generation of an ammonia from the storage tank is prevented.

As a result, even in a cold region, the strainer can effectively filtrate foreign matters while suppressing the freezing of urea solution.
