    • PURPOSE:To efficiently and economically produce the titanium powder by utilizing the gaseous hydrogen produced in a dehydrogenation treatment of titanium hydride powder for the hydrogenation treatment of raw material titanium and utilizing the heat generated in this treatment for dehydrogenation. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogenation vessel 1 housing the raw material titanium 13 and a hydrogenation vessel 2 housing the titanium hydride powder 14 put into tray-shaped containers 15 internally heaving heaters 4 are arranged into a heat treatment furnace 3 having furnace wall heaters 5. A specified pressure and temp. are maintained in the furnace. Gaseous H2 is then supplied to hydrogenate the raw material titanium 1 and thereafter, the raw material titanium is pulverized, by which the titanium hydride powder is obtd. On the other hand, the titanium hydride powder 14 is subjected to the dehydrogenation treatment, by which the titanium powder is obtd. The gaseous hydrogen produced in the dehydrogenation treatment at that time is supplied through a discharge pipe 7, a pump 10 and an introducing pipe 6 to the hydrogenation vessel 1 and is utilized for the hydrogenation treatment of the raw material titanium 13. On the other hand, the heat generated in the hydrogenation treatment of the exothermic reaction is supplied to the dehydrogenation vessel 2 and is utilized for the dehydrogenation treatment of the endothermic reaction.

    • PURPOSE:To apply homogeneous hardening treatment to a wire material by uniformly quenching said wire material, by allowing the high temp. hot rolled wire material to pass a cooling tank in a loose coil form and injecting a cooling medium to said wire material from above by an angle variable nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled wire material 2 is fallen on the wet conveyor 7 in a heat treatment tank 5 storing a cooling medium 4 in a loose coil form from a dry conveyor 3 and conveyed through the cooling medium 4 by the movement of said wet conveyor 7. The cooling medium 4 is injected from the loose coil 2 of the wire material from the direction at a right angle to the conveying direction of the loose coil of the wire material to a direction near to horizontality, while the direction of a nozzle 9, of which the direction is freely alterable around a fulcrum 9', is changed, in such a state the leading end of said nozzle is immersed in the cooling medium 4 to cool and harden said loose coil 2. By this method, the wire material coil 2 is uniformly cooled and hardened by using a reduced amount of the cooling medium and a homogeneous heat treated wire material is obtained as a whole.

    • PURPOSE:To cool efficiently and uniformly a hot rolled steel materal with spouted water in a short cooling zone without forming soft spots by arranging unit coolers each having a specified flow density of cooling water in series in the forward direction of the steel material. CONSTITUTION:Unit coolers 6 are arranged in series in the forward direction of a steel material 5. Cooling water 3 is fed to the outer pipes 2 of the coolers 6 and spouted from many holes 4 in the inner pipes 1 to cool the steel material 5 passing through the inner pipes 1. Cooling water is spouted at >=250m /hr.m flow density, and the surface temp. of the steel material to be cooled is regulated to about 600-1,000 deg.C. The hot rolled steel material 5 can be cooled uniformly and efficiently.
