    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously measure contact position of a wheel with a rail. SOLUTION: In a PQ wheel 1, a pair of wheel weight measuring strain gauges 2a, etc. are attached to opposing inner peripheral positions on the same circumference of a wheel weight measuring hole 1d, which is provided in a central part of a disk part 1b, and lateral pressure measuring strain gauges 3a, etc and 3a', etc. are attached to the surface and the back of the disk part 1b on a boss side of the disk part 1b, and contact position detecting strain gauges 4a, etc. and 4a', etc. are furthermore attached to positions near round-end parts of the rim side of the disk part 1b on the extension line extended outward in the radial direction from the lateral pressure measuring strain gauges 3a, etc. and 3a', etc. A contact position of the wheel with the rail is detected based on the strain measured by the lateral pressure measuring strain gauges 3a, etc. and 3a', etc., the contact position detecting strain gauges 4a, etc. and 4a', etc. and bridge circuits thereof, and the wheel weight obtained by the wheel weight measuring gauges 2a, etc. and the bridge circuit thereof. As a result, contact positions of the travelling wheel with the rail are continuously detected with high accuracy, and safety in relation to derailment is more strictly evaluated.
