    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a friction coefficient of the surface of road through simple work.SOLUTION: A simplified pendulum type friction coefficient measuring instrument 10 comprises: a base 11; a strut 12 extending upward from the base 11; a pendulum 14 which is provided to freely swing around the X axis horizontal to the strut 12 and swings up after passing above a roller XA1 which rotates around the X axis, by falling to swing toward the roller XA1; a contact piece 15 which is provided in a distal end of the pendulum 14, passes above the roller XA1 together with the pendulum 14 when the pendulum 14 passes above the roller XA1, and slides on the circumferential surface of the roller XA1; and a rotary encoder 18 which detects a swing angle of the pendulum 14 at the time point when the pendulum 14 falling from a reference position swings up most to the opposite side.
