    • PURPOSE:To improve torque detecting accuracy, by fixing and arranging first and second coils, which can form magnetic circuits between first and second torque detecting surfaces at positions closely facing first and second grooves, which are set at a positive or negative slant angle with respect to the axial direction, separately. CONSTITUTION:Under the state torque is not applied to a shaft 1, an AC power source 32 for a measuring part 2B is turned ON. When AC is supplied to first and second coils 13A and 13B, magnetic circuits as shown by dotted lines are formed. When the magnetic circuit associated with the first coil 13A is noted, magnetic flux phi goes through a path formed by a first yoke 14A, a gap, a first torque detecting surface 16A and the first yoke 14A, a gap, a first torque detecting surface 16A and the first yoke 14A again. This is true for the magnetic circuit associated with the second coil 13B. A shaft 1 is rotated with a driving means. When torque is applied kin the direction R, the output voltage at output terminals d-b becomes higher than the voltage at output terminals c-b in a bridge circuit 30 in the measuring part 2B. In a signal processing part 34, the output of a rectifier circuit 38B is larger than the output of a circuit 38A. An indicator 36 indicates a specified negative voltage value.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance effectiveness of engine brake and improve charging efficiency to an alternator, by controlling an auxiliary machine to an increased speed side irrespective of load condition of the auxiliary machine when a vehicle is driven with a reduced speed not less than a predermined value. CONSTITUTION:When an engine rotational speed obtained in a control unit 50 from an ignition pulse signal 51 is not less than a predetermined value during running of a vehicle, a pulley 6 is idly driven by not exciting a rotating coil 10, and auxiliary machines 2-4 are driven with a reduced speed by driving a pulley 11 through a one-way clutch 12. On the other hand, when the engine rotational speed is less than the predetermined value, the auxiliary machines 2-4 are driven with an increased speed by exciting the rotating coil 10 and rotating the pulley 6 integrally with a crank shaft 5 of an engine 1. When a reduced speed condition is detected from an output from a throttle opening sensor 56, the rotating coil 10 is excited irrespective of load condition of the auxiliary machines 2-4 to drive the auxiliary machines 2-4 with an increased speed.
