    • PURPOSE:To provide a device inspecting the breakage of the fibers of a carbon fiber- reinforced plastic tubular product such as a golf shaft or a fishing rod in a non- destructive manner. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of excitation coils 9a-12a selectively allowing an induction current to flow in every direction of the reinforcing fibers of a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic tubular member 1 and a plurality of detection coils 9b-12b forming pairs with respect to the coils 9a-12a are arranged to coil bobbins 9-10 and connected to an eddy current flaw detector 8. The tubular member 1 is attached to a rotary mechanism 3 through a holding part 2 and the rotary mechanism 3 is fixed to a scanning mechanism 4. When an inspection start command is inputted to a computer part 7, the scanning mechanism 4 is operated by the command of the computer part 7 to allow the tubular member 1 to run. The impedance change of the detection coils 9b-12b is converted into voltage by the eddy current flaw detector 8 while the voltage is recorded and displayed on the computer part 7. Next, the tubular member 1 is rotated by a predetermined angle and, thereafter, the same scanning is performed and these operations are repeated until the tubular member 1 makes one revolution and whole surface inspection is automatically executed and an inspection result is displayed.

    • PURPOSE:To correct welding conditions based on defect signals and prevent the continued production of weld defects by performing ultrasonic angle beam flaw detection from one or both sides of the weld zone leaving a fixed distance from an electrode wire. CONSTITUTION:In submerged arc welding, the plural ultrasonic angle beam probes 1 on both sides of the weld line scan on groove faces 2 cooperatively with a welding torch at all times during welding, in the position apart by a distance l from a preceding welding wire 4 and on the line orghogonal to the weld line. If at this time lack of fusion 6 occurs on the groove faces, a defect signal 8 is outputted to operate a welding control unit which in turn moves the wire 4 to the signal generating side until the defect signal 8 annihilates. In addition, if lack of penetration 11 occurs on the under surface of root in the case of using one angle beam probe 1 on one side of the weld line, an output signal 9 is inputted to the welding control unit so that the welding current is increased or the welding speed is decreased, whereby normal welding is accomplished.

    • PURPOSE:To execute an eddy current flaw inspection by a high detecting capacity, by using a long through-coil for an excitation, and placing plural pieces of air-core detecting coils so as to be opposed in the outside periphery of a body to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:A sine wave voltage generated by an oscillator 10 is supplied to the exciting coil 5 of a detecting part. The coil 5 is a solenoid coil being long enough, therefore, a roughly uniform alternating magnetic field is formed in its inside. Also, to the surface and the surface layer of a body to be inspected 1, the eddy current of the opposite direction flows in the same direction as a current flowing in the coil 5 so as to negate its alternating magnetic field. Moreover, if a defect exists on the surface of the body to be inspected 1, the eddy current goes round the defect and flows, therefore, the magnetic field comes to have a vertical component. As a result, a magnetic field by this defect and a pancake coil 6 are interlinked, and a voltage is induced in the coil 6. This induced voltage is brought to a synchronous detection by a synchronous detector 14 through an amplifying circuit 12 by referring to a phase which has phase-shifted a phase of the oscillator 10 by a phase shifter 13. Also, a high frequency noise component is cut by a band-pass filter 15, and a defect is detected by a pulse height discriminating circuit 16.
