    • PURPOSE:To easily separate and recover adhered Zn from dust by reducing the ZnO-contg. dust generated in steel making with a hydrogen-contg. gas to Zn by an external heating rotary kiln, cooling and condensing the vaporized Zn as metallic Zn. CONSTITUTION:The dust generated from a steel making furnace such as an electric furnace consists essentially of iron oxide and farther contains the ZnO etc., harmful as the auxiliary steel making material. Accordingly, the dust 1 is passed through a drier 4, introduced into an external heating rotary kiln 5 and heated to 750-1000 deg.C to reduce ZnO to Zn with a coke-oven gas contg. at least 10% hydrogen as a reducing gas. The obtained molten Zn vapor is cooled in a Zn condenser 8 to form the metallic Zn powder 9 which is recovered. The reducing gas freed from ZnO in the rotary kiln and still contg. hydrogen is used as a gas 11 for heating the kiln 5, a gas 12 for a dust drier 4 and a gas 13 to be added to the reducing gas 6 of the kiln 5, and the remaining heat energy is effectively utilized.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to produce a synthetic natural gas highly efficiently in the whole system by enriching, in a rapid thermal decomposition process of coal, hydrogen in a gas obtained by the decomposition of coal and adding the gas to finely divided coal, which makes it possible to obtain a hydrogen- enriched gas to be added in the reaction system of rapid decomposition of coal. CONSTITUTION:In a high-temperature decomposition step of coal wherein combustible gases, tar and char are produced by the decomposition of coal by mixing finely divided coal with a non-oxidizing gas, components of the produced gas other than hydrogen are removed, for example, by the PSA(pressure swing adsorption) to obtain a gas enriched with hydrogen, the produced gas is supplied into a hydrogenation gasification reactor to be brought into contact with finely divided coal under prescribed conditions, thereby producing a synthetic natural gas. According to the above, a gas enriched with hydrogen to be added can be obtained in the reaction system of rapid decomposition of coal, a synthetic natural gas in the total system can be produced with high efficiency, and also the apparatus can be simplified as a whole.
