摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend life of a roll and to prevent generation of crack of a slab by efficiently arranging recessed parts of prescribed depth on the peripheral face of a cooling roll of a continuous casting machine to produce a thin slab and preventing deformation and wear of the recessed parts. SOLUTION: In a cooling roll 6 of a continuous casting machine to produce a thin slab, a Ni layer 9 and Co layer 10 of 10-500μm thickness are formed in sequence on the peripheral face of the cooling roll 6, a sum of thickness of the Ni layer 9 and Co layer 10 is 500μm-2mm, recessed parts (d) having 30-150μm average depth are formed on the surface of the Co layer 10.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cast slab having stable quantity for long time by shot- blasting after heating the surface of a casting roll plated with Co-base alloy to a prescribed temp. SOLUTION: A heating device 1 enabling preheating of a roll surface range which jetting-supplies the shot-blast from a nozzle 2 by rotating the roll thereafter, is arranged in a roll type continuous caster having the Co-base alloy plating layer on the surface 4 contacting with molten metal. At the time of executing continuous casting by using this caster, the shot-blast is applied while rotating the roll to the (c) direction at the low casting speed and heating the surface heating range of the roll at 100 600 deg.C. By this method, the plating material excellent in the wear resistance of high hardness for the long time can be applied to the roll for the continuous caster. Further, the ruggedness having prescribed depth can be formed on the roll surface 4. Therefore, the cast slab having stable quality for a long time can be produced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the stable casting for long time by forming a side weir plate into a shape so that the distance between the end surface of a roll and the side weir plate surface is made gradually narrow toward a contact starting point. SOLUTION: The outside of the side weir 5a is covered with a side weir case, and the surface in contact with the end surface 9 of the cooling roll 9a is constituted with a heat insulating material, base member and ceramics 10 fixed into the base member. The ceramics 10 are provided along the surface sliding the sliding surface at the end part 9 of the cooling roll, i.e., the wearing surface. In a supplying hole of lubricating oil, a guide pipe 13 is provided and the lubricant 8 is movably inserted into the guide pipe. A lubricant pressing device is constituted of a cylinder 7 and a lubricant supporting part provided at the tip part of a rod 14 of the cylinder 7, and the lubricant 8 is supported by a supporting part and pressed onto the sliding surface at the end surface 9 of the cooling roll with a prescribed surface pressure. Therefore, the lubricant is spread all over the sliding surface.

This constitution reduces the dead time of the equipment required for the adjustment of the coating thickness to improve the productivity, reduces the variance in the coating to improve the precision of the coating thickness, and secures the stable quality of the surface of the slab.

The heat strain buffering member 8 is made to be the metal having the linear expansion coefficient of 0.8-1.4 times of that of Ni, concretely, Ni, Ni-Cr alloy containing 15-20% Cr, Co-Cr-Al-Y alloy or Co-Ni-Cr-Al-Y alloy. Further, the wear resistant member 7 is not specially limited and the thermal-spraying material of WC base, Co- Cr-Al-Y base, Co-Mo-Cr-Si base, etc., is suitably used.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably restrain the wear of a side weir and the end surface of a roll without clogging with worn powder in lubricator into a lubricator supply ing hole and to enable long-term stable casting by arranging a device for suck ing the worn powder in the lubricator from the lubricator supplying hole of the weir plate on the lubricator supplying side. SOLUTION: The outside of the side weir 2a is covered with a side weir case 7 and the surface of the side weir in contact with the end surface of the cooling roll is constituted with a heat insulating material 8, base member 9 and ceramics 10. The ceramics 10 is arranged along the wearing surface 19 and the lubricator supplying holes are opened at two positions 11a, 11b of the upper part of the side weir whose surface 19 does not contact the molten steel. In the supplying hole, a guide pipe 14 is arranged and the lubricator 13 is movably inserted therein. A lubricator pushing device is constituted with a cylinder 15 and a lubricator supporting part 16 arranged at the tip part of the cylinder, and the lubricator is pushed to a sliding surface 18 on the end surface of the cooling roll with a prescribed surface pressure and further, the worn powder in the lubricator 13 is sucked from the supplying hole.

Further, the pushing force of the applicator roll 1 to the belt 7 is controlled to >=1.2kg/mm, and the pushing force between the pickup roll 2 and the applicator roll 1 is controlled to >=0.5kg/mm, and the gap between the pickup roll 2 and a meter roll 3 is controlled to 100-150μm, and the peripheral velocity of the meter roll 3 is controlled to 3-10mpm, and the peripheral velocity of the pickup roll 2 is controlled to 7-30mpm to obtain the cast slab having good surface characteristic.
