    • PURPOSE:To improve the bonding quality and to obtain the long-sized double tube by stratifying an outer pipe on a cooled and diametrically contracted inner tube, subsequently repeatedly contracting the diameter of the outer tube by pressure of liquid at high temperatures and removing the liquid, then, returning the temperature of the inner tube down to the room temperature. CONSTITUTION:In the double tube wherein the outer tube 1 and the inner tube 2 are arranged in layers, the inner tube 2 is cooled by cooling water, etc., in advance to contract the diameter D2 of the inner tube down to D1. Then, the diameter of the outer tube 1 is contracted through high temperature liquid 6, the inner diameter D0 of the outer tube is deformed elastically and plastically to contract the inner diameter down to D3. Continuously liquid 6 at a high temperature is moved to a neighboring outer tube part in the axial direction and the outer tube 2 repeatedly is contracted in diameter all over the length of the double tube. Finally, the refrigerant in the inner tube 2 is removed to strongly bond the outer tube 1 and the inner tube 2. Hereby, the interfacial contact pressure increases and the workability to form the double tube reduces. Accordingly, the bonding quality of the double tube is improved and the double tube is lengthened.

    • PURPOSE:To form a different-diameter pipe at a uniform reduction ratio and low cost by cold working a partially thick-walled different-diameter pipe stock having a specified inside diameter between split 2-stage dies having a parallel part and valley part and a plug having a parallel part and valley part. CONSTITUTION:The raw pipe 4 having the inside diameter constant in the longitudinal direction and having the thick-walled part 3 in the middle is passed between the slidable dies consisting of the front die 6 and the rear die 7 and the slidable plug 8. The front thin-walled part of the raw pipe 4 is rolled down by the parallel part 17 of the rear die 7 and the front parallel part 19 of the plug 8 to form a front thin-walled part 2. The thick-walled part 3 of the pipe 4 is then rolled down by the parallel part 17 and is packed into the valley part 21 of the plug 8. The dies and plug 8 are slid to pack the thick-walled part 3 into the die valley part 18. The die 6 is split by removing bolts 10 and the rear thin-walled part of the pipe 4 is rolled down by the die parallel part 17 and the plug parallel part 19 to form the rear thin-walled part, by which the different-diameter pipe 1 having the specified inside diameter and the thick wall partially in the middle region is obtd.

    • PURPOSE: To make production of a different-diameter pipe having a longitudinally constant inside diameter or outside diameter and a thick-walled intermediate part with less stages by inserting a blank pipe which is a steel pipe into a die having a parallel part and trough part, putting a plug having parallel parts in the front and rear part and the trough part in the central part into said die and rolling down the blank pipe between said plug and die.
      CONSTITUTION: The blank pipe 14 which is the steel pipe is inserted into the die 7 having the parallel part 17 and the trough part 18 and the mouthed part 15 of the pipe 14 is gripped by a jaw 12. The plug 8 having the front parallel part 19 and the rear parallel part 20 and having the trough part at the intermediate thereof is then inserted into the blank pipe 14. The jaw 12 is then pulled forward to roll down the outside diameter side and the inside diameter side of the pipe 14 by the front parallel part 19 of the plug and the parallel part 17 of the die 7, thereby forming a thin-walled part 2 of the different-diameter pipe. The thick-walled part of the blank pipe is then rolled down by the intermediate trough part of the plug 8 and the parallel part 17 of the die to form a thick-walled part 3 of the different- diameter pipe. The thick-walled part 3 is packed into the trough part 18 of the die, by which the different-diameter pipe having the uniform inside diameter and the large outside diameter in the central part is produced. The different-diameter pipe having the uniform outside diameter and the partially small inside diameter is similarly produced.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an engine valve which is right and having good workability and cutting property by forming hardening layer which consists of low strength titanium alloy whose tension strength in a specified temperature is a specified value or more and tension strength in a normal temperature is the specified value and less, and which is formed in such a way that oxygen is solved on at least the surface of the face part and the stem part of a valve. CONSTITUTION:An intake engine valve consists of an umbrella part 1 having a face part 4, a stem part 2, a stem end part 3. The intake engine valve has a hardening layer which is formed of low titanium alloy whose tension strength in 30 deg.C is 10kgf/mm , and tension strength in a normal temperature is 80kgf/mm and less, and which is formed in such a way that oxygen is solved on at least the surface of the face part 4 and the stem part 2. In this intake engine valve, micro-texture is formed of an equi-ated needle-like alpha crystal of 6mum or more, or mixed texture consisting of equi-ated alpha crystal and needle-like alpha crystal. hardened layer having 600Hv is 5mum or more and loss then 20mum. It is thus possible to reduce a weight and improving workability.
