At this time, the impedance of the coil 3 is changed by magnetic conversion of the steel bar 4 heated up to the Curie temp. to paramagnetism if the circuit constant of an impedance matching circuit 2 is previously so set as to maximize the current flowing in the coil 3. The impedance matching conditions are then broken and the current flowing in the coil 3 changes. As a result, excessive overheating is prevented without using a sensor, etc.

    • PURPOSE:To evaluate the combustibility of pulverized coal in a tuyere so that the threshold of a blowing quantity can be known by estimating an isothermal face solid volume from the image of the radiation temp. camera provided in the tuyere and comparing this volume with a raceway volume. CONSTITUTION:The radiation temp. camera 1 is installed in the tuyere 7 of a blast furnace and the signal thereof is converted to a temp. by an image processor 2. The converted temps. at the respective points in the tuyere 7 are divided to several temp. regions by an image analyzer 3 which calculates the area by each temp. region and converts the combustibility of the pulverized coal to be blown from a lance 6 to an index. The combustion shape of the pulverized coal is estimated from the area of the region where the temp. in the tuyere of the combustion image of the pulverized coal is below a certain temp. Further, the isothermal face solid volume enclosed by the certain temp. necessary for the pulverized coal to burn completely is estimated from the area of the solid of the combustion shape. This volume is compared with the raceway volume in the tuyere 7 and the combustibility of the pulverized coal is evaluated. The threshold of the blowing quantity of the pulverized coal which burns completely is known in this way.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure heat flux in a metal by using a metal itself to be measured as one thermoelectromotive force material of a thermocouple and setting the other thermoelectromotive force material as a concentric ring type. SOLUTION: A constantan rod 10 is pressed against a measurement target by a press spring 18 to improve contact property. Also, a scale 19 is attached to the end of the constantan rod 10, thus telling the pressed length of the constantan rod 10 when a measuring device is pressed to the measurement target at a glance. Namely, the distance between two points (between the tip of the constantan rod 10 and that of a constantan chip 20) of the constantan being in contact with the measurement target can be immediately determined from the value. Further, the constantan chip 20 is sharpened to enable a constantan ring 11 to be in contact with the measurement target at one point and heat extraction from the measurement target is minimized, thus contributing to the improvement of measurement accuracy.
