    • PURPOSE:To provide a hydrogen storage alloy holding container having a heating medium support body which is capable of suppressing the generation of vibration of a heating medium pipe in a container. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen storage alloy holding container comprises a holding container to hold a hydrogen storage alloy; a heating medium pipe 4 installed in the holding container; an input port and an output port for a heating medium; and an input output port for hydrogen gas. In the hydrogen storage alloy holding container, the thickness of the cross section of the end part of a heating medium pipe support body 31 to hold a heating medium pipe 4 is increased to a value three or more times as large as that of the heating medium pipe support body 31. Further, a heating medium pipe fixing tool in a shape sized enough to fill a space between the heating medium pipe support body 31 and the heating medium pipe 4 therewith is inserted. The use of the container causes safe operation of a hydrogen storage discharge device using vibration and expectation of great contribution to a system, such as the hydrogen storage device, a hydrogen refining device, and an actuator.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an efficient and safe operating method for a thermal accumulative heat exchanger for heating gas containing hydrocarbon for purging combustible gas in a heat accumulation chamber by removing carbon adhered to anh inner side of a furnace by a method wherein the carbon adhered to the inner side of the furnace is removed with discharging combustion gas of high partial oxygen pressure as well as its heat accumulation and when a combustion is changed over to an air blowing and when the air blowing is changed over to the combustion, a low calorie gas is ignited to make a purged gas and a combustion gas temperature at the time of combustion and another combustion gas tempera ture at the time of purging are approximately equal to each other in a range of about 1000 to 1500 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger is comprised of a heat accumulation chamber 1 having some checker bricks piled up and stored therein and a combustion chamber 4 having a combus tion gas supplying port 2 and a combustion air supplying port 3. Domes 5 and 6 disposed at upper parts of both chambers are communicated by a communication pipe 7. At the lower portion of the heat accumulation chamber 1, a combustion gas discharging pipe 8 leading to a chimney and an air blowing gas supplying pipe 9 are connected. In turn, a combustion chamber 4 has chimney passage 10 communicating with a hot air pipe for supplying blown gas to a target furnace. Gas heating furnace Nos. 1 and 2 are operated to repeat a heating operation and an air blowing operation alternatively. When the combustion is changed over to the air blowing and the air blowing is changed over to the combustion, low calorie gas is ignited to make purged gas and then a combustion gas temperature at the combustion time and another combustion gas temperature at the purging time are made approximately the same to each other in a temperature range of 1000 to 1500 deg.C.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove by adsorption hazardous substances contained in exhaust gas by separating and collecting char contained in combustible gas produced by a melting furnace and blowing the char into the exhaust gas after the combustible gas has been subjected to combustion treatment. SOLUTION: Gas produced in a furnace 1 is a combustible gas containing carbon monoxide, hydrogen and hydrocarbon. Because of an atmosphere which contains almost no oxygen the char thus generated contains a large amount of carbon. The char is composed of carbonized paper, wood and garbage in crude waste, which have been formed by subjecting to carbonization and scattered by an ascending gas within the furnace. Almost all of the char is collected by a cyclone 2. The char has fine holes and a specific surface and functions as an adsorbent by increasing the amount of usage. The char is blown through a blowing position where temperature of gas is 30 deg.C or lower and contaminants on a surface of the char is not evaporated. The contaminants on the surface of the char is removed and purification of exhaust gas is implemented.

    • PURPOSE:To safely remove aromatic chlorine compounds and so on in exhaust gas, by a method wherein the exhaust gas heated by burning is maintained in a heat-maintaining chamber, is introduced into a gas cooler, and is directly cooled with spray water, and powderlike slaked lime and so on are blown into the exhaust gas, following which the slaked lime and so on are caught through a bag filter. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas from an electric furnace 1 is introduced into a combustion apparatus 5 by mixing through a duct 2, is heated by being mixed with burner-burnt gas and is maintained under a high-temperature condition thereof in a heat-maintaining chamber 7. The exhaust gas discharged from the heat-maintaining chamber 7 is introduced into a gas cooler 8 and is directly cooled with water particles splayed from a splay nozzle 9. Furthermore, fine particles such as slaked lime are blown into the exhaust gas by an adsorbent- feeding apparatus 10 and are allowed to absorb aromatic chlorine compounds remaining in the exhaust gas and to catch together with dust in the exhaust gas through a bag filter 11. In addition, heat-exchangers each are provided on an exhaust gas duct from the heat- maintaining chamber 7 and on another exhaust gas duct ranging from the electric furnace 1 or a scrap-preheating apparatus therefor to the combustion apparatus 5 by mixing or the combustion apparatus 5.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an uniform axial flow of hydrogen storage alloy by arranging a hydrogen storage alloy holding container having ports for introducing and discharging hydrogen gas, on a vibration bed provided with a vibrating motor, through the intermediary of a vibration transmitting medium. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen storage alloy holding container 1 stores therein hydrogen storage alloy 2, and incorporates a hydrogen introducing valve 6 which can be closed through a filter 3, and a heat medium pipe line through which heat medium for heating or cooling the alloy. In this arrangement, the container 1 is supported on a vibration bed 10 which is vibrated by a vibrating motor 7 and supported by a base through springs 9,..., through the intermediary of a vibration transmitting medium 8. When the container 1 is heated which it is vibrated by driving the motor 7, the hydrogen is emitted. Accordingly, the uniform axial flow of the hydrogen storage alloy is ensured, thereby it is possible to rapidly emit hydrogen.
