    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a filter flow flux and to form a good and dynamic filter layer with a simple and inexpensive apparatus by providing the apparatus with a filtrate water accepting member which is supported at a float in a biological reaction layer and moves vertically according to the water level in a water tank and a tubular member which leads the filtrate water from the inside of a filter body to the accepting member. SOLUTION: The sewage treating apparatus is constituted by hanging a water collecting pipe 11 to accept the filtrate water from a filtration unit 3 at the float 12 floating on the water surface of the aeration layer 1 by means of a suspension 13 absorbing the vibrations of short cycles. The filtrate water from the filtration unit 3 is introduced by a takeout pipe 14 of a flexible pipe and the filtrate water in the water collecting pipe 11 is discharged outside the tank from a discharge pipe 15 of a flexible pipe. Even if the water level of the aeration tank 1 is fluctuated by the increase and decrease of a raw water volume, the flow 12 moves vertically in follow up thereto and, therefore, the water collecting pipe 11 communicating with the float 12 follows up the movement as well and the water level difference L between the water level W1 in the aeration tank 1 and the water level W2 in the water collecting pipe 11 is kept constant at all times. The filter flow flux corresponding to the water level difference may thus be maintained.

    • PURPOSE: To improve purification efficiency, to efficiently discharge the sludge falling from contact materials and to stably maintain the purification efficiency over a long period by disposing many fibrous cord-like bodies, etc., of specific void volume within a septic tank, forming the bottom of the tank as a tapered surface and forming channel sludge pools at the terminal end thereof. CONSTITUTION: The cord-like bodies or net-like bodies or perforated bodies consisting of the fiber materials having the void volume of >=90% are used as the contact materials and, therefore, the sludge 15 adheres on these contact materials and grow, but falls when the sludge grows to some extent. The clogging of the spacings between the contact materials with this sludge does not arise. The tank bottom below the contact materials is formed as a slope 19c and the sludge pools 19 are formed at the terminal thereof and, therefore, the sludge 15 falling from the contact materials is easily accumulated and deposited in the sludge pools by the slope effect. Since openings 21 are disposed via space parts 18 above the sludge pools 19, the sludge stagnated and deposited in the sludge pools 19 are discharged by occasionally carrying and arranging a sludge discharge robot 20 into the tank from these openings 21.
