    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a damaged location in a corrosion- proof coating of embedded metal pipes capable of heightening work efficiency, reducing cost, and accurately knowing the damaged location in the coating. SOLUTION: A signal current is passed between a damaged part 3 in the coating of the metal pipe 2 embedded in the ground to which the corrosion-proof coating 1 is applied and a counter electrode 5 embedded in the ground 4 from a measuring signal transmitter 6. The potential difference of a ground surface is detected by each of wheel electrodes 10 in a receiving device 9 to detect damage in this method for detecting the damaged location in the corrosion-proof coating in the embedded metal pipe. Two types of different carrier-frequency signal currents are simultaneously supplied across the embedded metal pipe 2 and the embedded counter electrodes 5 and 7, and the signals of the two types of frequency components detected by the receiving device 9 are compared with each other to determine the damaged part 3 in the coating.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a damaged location in a corrosion-proof coating in embedded metal pipes capable of facilitating measuring work, eliminating restrictions on a measuring range and a location, and highly accurately knowing the damaged location in the coating. SOLUTION: An A.C. signal current is passed between a damaged part 3 in the coating of the metal pipe 2 embedded in the ground to which the corrosion-proof coating 1 is applied and a counter electrode 5 embedded in the ground 4 from a measuring signal transmitter 6. The potential difference of a ground surface between two electrodes is detected by wheel electrodes 8 in a receiving device 7. A ground surface potential which occurs from the damage in the coating of the embedded pipe is detected to detect the damage in the device for detecting the damaged location in the corrosion-proof coating in the embedded metal pipe 2. The receiving device 7 is provided with an integrating circuit 12 for integrating the sine or cosine of the ground surface potential difference. The distribution of the ground surface potential obtained by the integration is displayed on a display device 13. From changed in the waveform thereof, the damaged location in the corrosion-proof coating 1 is detected.

    • PURPOSE:To precisely detect a damage on a corrosion preventing coating on a buried metal pipe. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a transmitter connecting between a metal pipe 2 and a buried electrode 5, a potential difference signal detecting part 60 composed of terminals 8, 9 which are separated from each other in the longitudinal direction of the metal pipe, and which are connected to the detecting part 60, a reference signal detecting part 50 composed of a terminal 6 at the metal pipe, adjacent to the above-mentioned terminals and an underground reference electrode 7, and a lock-in amplifier 70 using a detection signal from the reference signal detecting part as a reference signal, and a detection signal from the potential difference detecting part as a measured signal, and a detector 90 including an indicator 80 for indicating an output from the amplifier. The lock-in amplifier 70 removes a reference signal and asynchronized noise voltage from the detection signal by means of an a.c. signal from the transmitter 4, and delivers a potential difference caused by the above-mentioned synchronized current to the indicator 80, thereby it is possible to detect a damage 3 on the coating in accordance with the potential difference.

      CONSTITUTION: Plural pieces of the bar-shaped projections consisting of the same material as the material of the tightening ruggedness of the leg pipe of the tension leg platform which has screw joint parts 2 at both ends of a straight pipe body part 1 and is provided with plural pieces of the above-mentioned ruggedness 3 around the parts 2 are provided to the projecting parts of said ruggedness. On the other hand, the core metals 8, 9 provided with plural sectorial members at both ends thereof are welded in a weld zone 10 into an annular shape to form the galvanic anode 5 wound the part 1 of the above-mentioned leg pipe. The core metal 7 made of the steel in parallel with the axial force direction of the leg pipe provided to said electrode 5 is butt-welded to the end of the above-mentioned projections 4 in the weld zone 6. The above-mentioned anode 5 is thus attached to the leg pipe without giving adverse influence as the notch for the corrosion fatigue of the leg pipe body.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive improvement of detection accuracy, by applying a signal voltage of an order of 1-10Hz between a pipe covered with anti-corrosion substance being buried in the ground and an opposedly installed electrode also embedded in the ground, and detecting a position where the minimum value of two maximum values of ground surface electric potential differences is indicated in an indicator. CONSTITUTION:A signal voltage of an order of 1-10Hz is applied between a metallic pipe 2 covered on its surface with anti-corrosion substance and buried in the ground and an electrode positioned opposedly to the pipe and embedded in the ground also, and a detecting apparatus 7 provided with two electrodes 4 arranged with the specified distance apart along the longitudinal direction of the pipe 2, filter 5 and indicator 6 is made to travel along the ground surface just above the pipe 2. Further, a potential difference of the two points on the ground surface just above the pipe 2 is detected continuously and noises of DC- and AC-portions contained in a detecting signal emitted from the filter 5 and noise of the detecting signal are removed and thus, a position of the minimum value between two positions, where the ground surface potential difference shown in the apparatus 6 is indicated as maximum, is detected and accurate location of the damaged position of the pipe 2 is made available.
