    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an austenitic stainless steel which is excellent in corrosion resistance and hot-working processability and produces no wrinkle pattern at bending, even when solution treatment is omitted.
      SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel has a specific composition essentially comprising 0.20-0.60% Cu, 0.010-0.100% Al, 0.0005-0.0040% Ca and 0.0005-0.0020% B. The steel may further contain at least one chosen from Ti, Nb and V. Preferably, Ni-bal is adjusted to from -2 to +1. A steel material obtained by subjecting the steel to hot-rolling with a cumulative rolling reduction ratio of ≥50% at ≥1,050°C and a finishing temperature of 800-950°C or to two-heat rolling is suitable for a structural member of a chemical tanker.
