    • PURPOSE:To cast a cast billet excellent in surface property without using large capacity of a high frequency induction power source for high frequency induction coil. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous casting device for cast billet connecting a refractory nozzle 2 and a water cooling mold 3, a magnetic field amplifying plate 4 is provided on the connected part of the refractory nozzle 2 and the mold 3 and also the high frequency induction coil 5 is provided in the vicinity of the magnetic field amplifying plate 4, and on the magnetic field amplifying plate 4, the part for preventing conduction of induction current generated from the high frequency induction coil 5 is provided. Thus, the induction current is made to flow in the inner peripheral side of the magnetic field amplifying plate 4 (inside of the connected part of the refractory nozzle 2 and the mold 3), and even in the case large current is not conducted to the high frequency induction coil 5, large magnetic pressure is generated in the inside of the connection part to form a space 8, the connection part and the molten steel 6 are made in a non-contact condition. Therefore, in an upstream zone from the mold 3, solidification of the molten steel 6 is not occurred and the cast billet excellent in surface property is produced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a steel plate favorable in surface property in a stable state by arranging a magnetic field converging plate outside a weir along the neighborhood of a triple point part wherein horizontal cooling rolls, the weir and molten metal come in contact with one another, providing a high frequency coil near this converging plate and installing cooling boxes to the magnetic field converging plate. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic field converging plate 9 is arranged outside the weir along the neighborhood of the triple point part wherein horizontal cooling rolls 1a, 1b come in contact with the weir 3 and molten metal, the high frequency coil 5 is provided near this converging plate, and the cooling boxes 10, 11 are installed to the magnetic field converging plate. When the magnetic field converging plate is arranged, the magnetic field generated by the high frequency coil do not diverge in the air, passes through the center of the magnetic field converging plate and converged. Then, when the magnetic field converging plate is arranged along the neighborhood of the triple point part near the high frequency coil, the magnetic field is converged near the triple point and a high magnetic pressure can be actuated efficiently. Soft magnetic material is used as magnetic field converging plate material and silicon steel plate, etc., are suitable. Thus, a large magnetic pressure is generated at the triple point part to obtain the steel plate excellent in surface property in a stable state.
