    • PURPOSE:To produce Cr-containing steel at low a cost by charging Cr ore on molten iron at early stage after starting oxygen blow at the time of decarbonized-refining into molten steel by oxygen-blowing in a converter charging the molten iron and executing smelting-reduction of the Cr ore at wiring point having high temp. with an oxygen top blowing lance. CONSTITUTION:The molten iron 11 executing pre-refining of desiliconization, dephosphorization, desulfurization, etc., after tapping from a blast furnace, is charged into the converter 10 and the oxygen is blown from the oxygen top blowing lance 12 while rotating the lance 12 with a rotating device 14 and C contained in the molten iron 11 is oxidized to decarbonize by slagless refining to refine into the molten steel. In this case, at the stage, when the C content in the molten iron is still high within at least 10min after starting oxygen blow, the Cr ore is charged on the molten iron 11 from an adding device 15 and the Cr ore having difficult-to-melt, is melted 16 in the firing point 20 having high temp., such as 2000-2800 deg.C at the tip part of the rotated lance 12. Further, Cr2O3 and FeO contained in the Cr ore are reduced with C in the molten iron 11 or CO generated with oxidization thereof and the Cr-containing steel is produced at low cost without using Fe-Cr.

    • PURPOSE:To directly and quantitatively predict slopping in a converter without any delay by observing brightness of a steel tapping hole in the converter with a furnace condition displaying device, further finding brightness value, etc., of the steel tapping hole from an image pickup device and predicting development of the slopping by this value. CONSTITUTION:The picture at the steel tapping hole 3 and the neighborhood in the converter wit the image pickup device 10 is shown in the furnace condition displaying device 13. On the other hand, the arithmetic unit 12 analyzes the signal from a picture processor 11 and finds the brightness value of the steel tapping hole 3 or its variation at the lapse of time, and they are quantitatively displayed with the alarming device 14. Then, when their values come in the range which development of the slopping is possible, the device 14 gives the alarm on the display or sound. Further, the above range can be statistically found beforehand with an observing device 20 for furnace condition in the converter at each blowing condition.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently prevent flow-out of slag into a ladle and to eliminate necessity of temp. raising of molten metal in a refining furnace by floating a stopper between the slag and the molten metal just at upper zone of a molten metal tapping hole, dipping a cylindrical member in the slag and holding the stopper to just the above upper zone by a connecting member. CONSTITUTION:At the time of tapping about 80% of the molten metal in the refining furnace, the slag 5 flow-out preventing device 10 composing of the stopper 20 having the intermediate specific gravity between the slag 5 and the molten metal 4 and the cylindrical member 30 having the specific gravity more than that of the slag 5 and less than that of the stopper 20 and chain 40 on the slag 5 just at the upper zone of the molten metal taping hole 6. Under this condition, even in case further the molten metal 4 is flowed out and the molten surface is descended and vortex is developed, the flow-in of the slag 5 at outside of the member 30 into the tapping hole 6 is prevented, and the vortex is reduced in its speed. Further, at the time of flowing out the molten metal 4 and substantially remaining only the slag, the stopper 20 closes the tapping hole 6, to prevent the flow-out of the slag 5. Then, as the stopper 20 is connected with the member 30 by the chain 40, the tapping hole 6 is surely closed to profitably prevent the flow-out of the slag 5.
