摘要： PURPOSE:To safely prevent the deposition of solidified zinc on the surface of a steel strip in an annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION:The solidified zinc removing device provided with a filter 8 and a fan 9 is set in a furnace shell 3 on the outlet side of an annealing furnace, and a slit nozzle is used as a discharge port 11. A reducing gas ascending in a snout 5 is sucked from a suction port 7, the solidified zinc contained in the gas is collected by the filter 8, the purified atmospheric gas is returned to the shell 3 from the discharge ports 10 and 11, and the purified gas flows into an annealing furnace 2. Simultaneously, the purified gas discharged from the discharge port 11 is blown against the surface of a steel strip 1 which is cleaned. Since the removing device is set in a turndown chamber 3, the external air is not sucked or the reducing gas is not leaked, and the quality of plating is safely improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obviate the generation of surface defects by chemical conversion treatment stains by dropping of a chemical conversion treating liquid to the front surface side of a band-shaped body from the ceiling of a chemical conversion treatment tank at the time of the chemical conversion treatment of the band-shaped body. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a shielding member 3 so as to extend in the transverse direction of the band-shaped body. The free end of this shielding member 3 is connected to a moving truck and the other end thereof is wound on a taking up device 5 and is adjusted to comply with the width of the band-shaped body. The chemical conversion treating liquid blown up from a spray nozzle 12 is shielded by this shielding member, by which the infiltration of the chemical conversion treating liquid to the front surface side of the band-shaped body is prevented. As a result, the generation of the surface defects by the chemical conversion treatment stains does not arise any more. The surface condition of the product is improved and the yield is improved as well.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent an L-camber from being generated on a blank stock by providing crowns so that in each work roll its crown rate changes from a large crown rate to a small crown rate in sequence from the inlet side of a sheet to its outlet side. CONSTITUTION:When the longitudinal camber of the sheet 1 is straightened, the crown rate is made large on the inlet side of a roller leveler 3. Therefore, the crown rate changes largely in response to large intermesh and work rolls 2 come into linear contact with the whole width of the sheet 1. Since the intermesh is large, a large load acts on the sheet 1 alternately in the reverse direction and the camber is corrected over the whole width. Further, since the crown rate is small on the outlet side of the leveler 3, the crown is changed even by a small intermesh and the work roll 2 comes into linear contact with the whole width of the sheet 2. Generation of residual stress is prevented over the whole width of the sheet 1.

The roughness Rz of the layer 4 is controlled to 8-15mum and the Rmax to 18mum. The arc spotting and scratching of the roll are prevented by the layer 4, and the roll is easily repaired because of the layer 3 is present between the upper and lower layers as the intermediate layer.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the chipping by detecting the travel distance of the drive side end face of a sliding drum shaft with a distance sensor, and calculating the knife gap based on a calculating equation expressing the relationship detween a preset travel distance of the knife and the knife gap. CONSTITUTION:A distance sensor 1 is mounted on the opening provided at the end plate 51 of a journal box 31 for journaling a drive side rotary shaft 28 of an upper drum 22b. Then, the travel distance of the end face of the rotary shaft 28 of a sliding drum shaft 22b is detected. A distance signal from the sensor 1 is inputted to a knife gap calculating device 2. The knife gap is calculated based on the following equation expressing the relationship between a preset travel distance (l) of the drum shaft and the knife gap (t):t=l tan beta(beta is a helix angle of a helical gear). The calculated knife gap is displayed on a display device 3. Thus, since the exact amount of travel of the drum shaft 22b can be grasped and the knife gap is displayed, an adequate gap can be set, and the chipping and dull edges of a knife can be reduced.
