CONSTITUTION:Wheel speed signals derived in wheel rotation sensors 15-18 are inputted to each speed arithmetic means 100-130 set in an ECU 27, and the computed wheel speed of each wheel is inputted to a brake pressure control means 500 set in the ECU 27. In each minimum arithmetic speed memory means 200-230, the minimum computed speed of each wheel speed is detected, stored and held. In a control condition correcting means 51 of brake pressure set in a brake pressure control means 500, the minimum computed speed stored in the minimum computed speed memory means 200-230 is compared with the wheel speed computed by the speed arithmetic means 100-130, and the content of vehicle control is changed according to the comparison result.

    • PURPOSE:To let control performance be sufficiently exhibited even when a small diameter tire is mounted by operating control variables so as to be compensated by the use of signals from other wheel speed sensors while the wheel speed sensor attached to a small diameter tire mounted wheel is excluded when it is judged that the small diameter tire is mounted. CONSTITUTION:The wheel speeds of a right and a left wheel are operated by a wheel speed operating means based on the detected signals from a right and a left wheel speed sensor so that it is judged by a judging means whether or not there exists a small diameter tire mounted wheel. When it is judged that there exists no small diameter tire mounted wheel, control variables are operated by a control variable operating means by the use of the whole of detected signals from wheel speed sensors. On the other hand, when it is judged that there actually exists the small diameter tire mounted wheel such as a temp space tire and the like, the signal detected by the wheel speed sensor attached to the small diameter tire mounted wheel is excluded so that the control variables are thereby operated so as to be compensated by the use of signals detected by the other wheel speed sensors while the control variables which are operated so as to be compensated are given to a controlled means. By this constitution, control performance which is roughly similar to that of the case when no small diameter tire is mounted, can thereby be exhibited even when the small diameter tire is mounted.

In addition, using the wheel cylinder pressure boosting time and pressure reduction amount, a pressure difference between the master cylinder pressure and wheel cylinder pressure is calculated in block 105. Based on the calculated results, a pulse pressure boosting method for the wheel cylinder pressure is judged in block 106.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the abnormality in an acceleration meter regardless of conditions such as travelling road surface by comparing an acceleration signal operation in one direction of the detection axis of an acceleration sensor and an acceleration signal operated in the other direction with thresholds respectively, and then judging that the acceleration meter is abnormal when only one acceleration signal continuously exceeds the threshold. CONSTITUTION:The abnormality detector is constituted of an acceleration sensor 25 and an ECU 27. The sensor 25 outputs a detected acceleration signal Gs to the ECU 27 and the ECU 27 compares the signal Gs with a threshold Kg1 corresponding to the acceleration in the advancing direction of a vehicle and a threshold Kg2 corresponding to deceleration. Then, when the signal Gs exceeds either threshold Kg1 or Kg2 and the exceeded amount of time (excess continuation time) exceeds reference times KT1 and KT2, it is judged that the sensor 25 is abnormal. In a travelling under a poor road condition, the vehicle vibrates and the thresholds Kg1 and Kg2 are alternately exceeds so that it is not judged that an abnormality has occurred.

When the wheel speed is lower than the set speed VSL, a vehicle is judged to be in ultra-low mu road travel, and pressure reduction is outputted.

    • PURPOSE:To correctly realize the vehicle control based on the acceleration signal by selecting the prescribed acceleration signal according to the traveling condition of a vehicle from the acceleration sensor signal to be outputted from a plurality of filters, and using the selected acceleration signal to control the object. CONSTITUTION:The acceleration signal of a vehicle to be detected by an acceleration sensor 1 is received by an A/D conversion circuit 65 to be converted into the digital signal. This digital signal is inputted into the respective low path filters of a first and a second filter processing parts 120, 130. The cut-off frequency of this first filter processing part 120 is set to remove the noise signal of low level in the normal traveling condition of the vehicle. The cut-off frequency of the second filter processing part 130 is set to remove the noise signal of high level to cause the body vibration, etc., when the vehicle is traveling on a rough road. These settings are made by selecting the acceleration signal according to the traveling condition, and the employment of the ABS control becomes possible by using the selected signal.
