    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of bendings or variability of density upon sintering a bar type or a tubular continuous formed body by a method wherein a jig for sintering is provided with V-shaped grooves for preventing bending of formed bodies on the upper surface of the jig for sintering while the surface roughness of the surfaces contacting with the formed bodies on the grooves is specified to a specified value. CONSTITUTION:In a jig 1 for sintering, which is employed for the sintering of bar type or tubular ceramics, the surface roughness Ra of the jig contacting with a formed body 2 is specified so as to be lower than 10mum. The surface of the jig 1 for sintering, which is contacted with the formed body 2 of ceramics, is processed by the lining of the material powder of the formed body 2. The surface roughness of the sintering jig is small and smooth whereby the shrinkage of the formed body will never be hindered upon sintering. On the other hand, the lining is made of ceramics powder same as the material of the formed body and, therefore, reaction will never be caused between the formed body and the jig upon sintering.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal-ceramic composite material high in strengths not only at the ordinary temperature but also at high temperatures by impregnating a preform using AlN particles having a prescribed maximum particle diameter as a reinforcing material with Al or its alloy by a high pressure cast method. SOLUTION: The maximum particle diameter of AlN particles herein used is 10-50μm. This method for producing this composite material comprises adding polyvinyl alcohol to the AlN powder having the maximum particle diameter of 50 or 10μm, drying the mixture, charging the dried mixture into a mold in a charging degree of 45% in the case of the maximum particle diameter of 50μm or in a charging degree of 55% in the case of the maximum particle diameter of 10μm, pressing the charged mixture with a pressure of 200kgf/cm for 3min to form a preform (100×50×15mm), cutting out a disk (diameter: 50mm, thickness: 15mm) from the preform, setting the disk in a columnar mold (diameter: 50mm, height: 50mm) for casting Al, separately charging an Al alloy (e.g. AC7A) into a graphite crucible for casting, thermally melting the alloy at 750 deg.C, pouring the melted alloy into the columnar mold and subsequently pressing the mold with a punch bar under a pressure of 50MPa for 3min.
