    • PURPOSE:To enable the reuse of an expensive He-containing carrier gas by a method wherein a mixed gas is brought into contact with calcium acetylide and then a catalyst of activated carbon and platinum. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas is brought into contact with calcium acetylide and then a catalyst of activated carbon and platinum for the oscillation of a carbon dioxide gas laser. A section of a catalytic reaction chamber 4 nearer to a gas supply port 6 is filled with CaC2 while the other section downstream the CaC2 is filled with a catalyst [C+Pt]. The mixed gas to serve as the laser oscillating medium has a composition ratio of He:N2:CO2=20:6:1 and travels in an oscillating tube 2 at a speed of 200m/sec to discharge at 25kV for laser oscillation. H2O is converted into C2H2 in the presence of CaC2, the C2H2 is adsorbed by the downstream-side catalyst [C+Pt] in the catalytic reaction chamber 4, and O2 due to integration of CO2 is converted back into CO2. This design ensures a recycling of a laser oscillation medium capable of simultaneously treating CO, O2, and H2O which contribute to a reduction in laser output. Expensive He may be preserved for permanent use.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain flashless parts with small pressurizing force by heating a base metal having a specified weight to the temp. between the solidification initiation temp. and solidification end temp. to melt the same into a half-molten state then molding under the pressure such metal by a plunger die penetrating through an upper die or lower die. CONSTITUTION:A round bar consisting of, for example, C8AS (secondary Al alloy base metal for casting) as a stock base metal 5 for molding is charged into a base metal heater 1 and is heated to the half-molten state. The half- molten base metal 7 is then loaded into the lower die 6 which is mated with the upper die 8 operating cooperatively with the plunger die 9. The metal 7 is pressurized by the die 9 to mold a product 11 having a desired shape. The pressurization in this state is executed until the metal 7 is thoroughly solidified. The die 8 and the plunger die are opened upward and the product 11 is taken out. In the figure, 2 denotes a high-frequency heating coil and 3 the refractory material packed around the coil 2.

    • PURPOSE:To safely further high efficiently operate a device, by setting in an equal pole a magnetic pole oppositely facing mutually to neighboring movable permanent magnets forther providing a rotary driving mechanism indexing an outer cylinder, in the case of the chip removing device operated by magnetic force in a vertical type machine tool. CONSTITUTION:A chip removing device 30 enables by driving a rod a fixed permanent magnet 44 and a movable permanent magnet 47 to switch their phase in a condition (a) and in a condition (b) as shown in the drawing. Magnetic flux, as shown by a broken line in the condition in the drawing (a), passes through inside the device 30 so as to generate no force attracting a chip, while the magnetic flux, as shown by a broken line in the condition in the drawing (b), passes through outside the device 30 so as to generate force attracting the chip. While an outer cylinder, providing in its point end part a plurality (for example, eight as shown in the drawing) of attractive balls 45 to be arranged at a fixed interval in the peripheral direction, is indexed by rotary driving. By this constitution, the device enables its operation in safety further with high efficiency to be obtained.
