    • PURPOSE:To form integrally and efficiently a flat heat transmission pipe and fins by reducing the pressure in a pin fin casting mold from the top end thereof, pressurizing the molten metal in a holding furnace below the casting mold and pouring the molten metal into the casting mold in the flat heat transmission pipe part and pin fin part. CONSTITUTION:The pressure in a reduced pressure vessel 7 is reduced through a pipe 6 connected to a vacuum pump; at the same time gaseous argon is introduced into a cavity part 14 of the holding furnace 8 through an introducing pipe 18 to pressurize the top surface of molten aluminum 11 held at a prescribed temp. The molten metal 11 is thereby raised in a pouring sleeve 19 to intrude through a pouring port 15 into the cavities 4A, 4B of the casting mold, thus filling the cavities. The introduction of the gaseous argon is ceased upon solidification to return the molten metal 11 below the port 15 into the furnace 8. The master molds 1A, 1B are transferred from the upper part of the furnace 8 to another table and the molds 1A and 1B are opened laterally, then the pin fin heat transmission pipe united with the flat heat transmission pipe 16-1 and pin fins 16-2 made of the solidified aluminum alloy is obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a mold of high strength at low cost by pouring a heat-resistant slurry, containing heat-resistant binder and fibers, into a cavity formed in a molding sand by using a pattern, to make the slurry penetrate the sand while evacuating the cavity from its backside. CONSTITUTION:A pattern 1 is set in a molding frame 2 on a molding board and a porous flexible pipe 3 for sucking air is inserted from a hole 2a of frame 2, then furan sand 4 is filled in the frame 2 and is cured. Successively, the frame 2 is turned upside down to release the pattern 1, thereby forming a cavity 5 into which a molten metal is poured. A heat-resistant slurry containing heat- resistant binder and fibers, is coated on the surface of cavity 5 while evacuating the cavity 5 from its backside, to make the slurry penetrate the molding sand in order to form a penetrated layer 6. The layer 6 is dried by heating the surface of cavity 5 while continuing the evacuation, to form the layer 6 into a fibrous ceramic later of high strength.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a casting mold sutable for precision casting of a large sized casting by inserting a pattern made of a foamed resin formed with a ceramic shell on the surface into a molding flask and packing sand to the circumference of said pattern then burning away the pattern and accelerating the curing of the ceramic shell to form a cavity. CONSTITUTION:The foamed resin pattern 1 having a pattern 1c, a sprue pattern 1a and a riser pattern 1b is manufactured of a foamed PST resin. A slurry 2 contg. a refractory binder such as silicate is sprayed by a sprayer 3 over the entire surface of the pattern 1 except the top surface of the pattern 1a and the top surface of the pattern 1b to form a slurry film 4 on the surface of the pattern 1. Dried Zr powder 5 is then sprayed by a sprayer 6 onto the film 4 to form the ceramic shell layer and further the spraying of the slurry 2 and the Zr powder 5 is alternately and repeatedly executed. The pattern 1 coated with the ceramic shell layer 7 is installed in the molding flask 8 and after the silica sand 9 is packed to the circumference thereof, the pattern is heated in a furnace to burn away the pattern 1. The casting mold of which the cavity 10 is coated with the layer 7 is thus completed.
