    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical pulse position detection circuit which detects the pulse position without using a complicated operational circuit. SOLUTION: The pulse generator includes: a light source 26 to output an optical signal; an oscillator 5 to output an electric clock signal; a first optical modulator 3a to modulate the intensity of the optical signal by the electric clock signal; a phase shifter 4 to shift the phase of the electric clock signal; a second optical modulator 3b to modulate the intensity of the optical signal from the first optical modulator by the phase-shifted electric clock signal; an optical demultiplexer 2 to demultiplex the output of the second optical modulator; an photodetector 8 to convert the demultiplexed optical signal into an electric signal; a dither signal generating circuit 11 to output a dither signal; a phase comparator 12 to synchronously detect the output of the photodetector and the dither signal; and a phase shifter controlling circuit 9 to control the phase shift degree of the phase shifter. The phase shifter control circuit receives the dither signal and the output of the phase comparator and controls the phase shifter to maximize the output of the photodetector.     • PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of the light-emitting element of a light transmitter being one communication equipment and to prevent a light-receiving unit being the other communication equipment from being saturated even if a distance between the communication equipments is near by changing the optical outputs between the communication equipments in accordance with the relative position of a moving body with respect to the other object. CONSTITUTION:When the moving body 1 passes near position detectors 5a-5n, they respectively transmit detection signals to a position information generation circuit 6, for example. The position information generation circuit 6 operates position information of the moving body 1 with respect to the light transmitter 3 by the detection signals from the position detection circuits 5a-5n, and transmits them to an optical output control circuit 7. It transmits optical output control signals which change continuously or stepwise the optical outputs of the light transmitter 3 in accordance with the distance between the light transmitter 3 and the photodetector 4 installed on the moving body 1 to the light transmitter 3 by position information signals from the position information generation circuit 6. Thus, the service life of the light-emitting element used for the light transmitter 3 is prolonged and the photodetector 4 is prevented from being saturated even if the distance between the communication equipments is near.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to monitor a bias current stably and highly accurately, by providing a circuit, which detects the fluctuation of the differential quantum efficiency of a laser diode and automatically corrects a reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:A bias current is converted into a voltage by a resistor 11. The output, which is amplified by a differential amplifier 13, i.e., the modulation component in the monitored bias voltage VM, is guided to a peak detector 19 through a coupling capacitor 18 and a converted into a DC voltage VP. The difference between said voltage and the third reference voltage VR3 from a third reference voltage terminal 22 is amplified by a differential amplifier 20. The output voltage V3 can be made to agree with an error voltage DELTAV by adjusting the amplification factor G3 of the differential amplifier 20. The first reference voltage VR1 and the output voltage V3 are added by an adder circuit 21, and its output, which is the second reference voltage VR2, is compared with the monitored bias voltage VM. When the monitored bias voltage exceeds the second reference voltage VR2, abnormality is judged by a voltage comparator 14. Warning is issued from a warning output terminal.
