The linear actuator is also provided with a detecting unit 5 for detecting the installation position of the sensor, and the control means 6 corrects outputs to supply current to the coil according to the installation position of the sensor. The detecting unit 5 judges the installation position of the sensor 39 from the output of the sensor.
