    • PURPOSE:To enable to regenerate a particulate capturing filter in an appropriate manner, by detecting the temperature of the filter, measuring the period when the temperature of the filter is higher than a predetermined value in regenerating the filter, and terminating the filter regenerating operation when said period has reached a set time. CONSTITUTION:In operation of an engine 1, judgement is made from the difference of the output signals of pressure sensors 7A, 7B disposed on the opposite sides of a filter 3 for capturing particulates contained in exhaust gas whether the amount of particulates captured by the filter 3 has reached a prescribed value or not. Regeneration of the filter 3 is carried out by burning the particulates captured by the filter 3 by raising the temperature of exhaust gas through operation of a fuel increasing means 25 and an injection timing delaying means 31 which serve as a filter regenerating means. In regenerating the filter 3, the temperature of the filter 3 is detected by a temperature sensor 40, and the period when the filter temperature is higher than a predetermined value is measured by a timer incorporated in a controller 6. When said period has reached a set time, operation of the filter regenerating means 25, 31 is terminated.

    • PURPOSE:In a device where Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is provided in exhaust system, to perform DPF regeneration stably by utilizing suction negative pressure at the downstream of suction throttle valve to such fresh air from downstream of DPF to recombustion device. CONSTITUTION:Under normal operation, exhaust gas from engine 3 will enter into DPF6 placed in exhaust path 5 where paticulate is removed then discharged through muffler 7 to the outside. When choking of DPF6 is detected by a pressure sensor 10, suction throttle valve A is reduced first to exchange bypath exchange valves B, C to solid line position. Then a valve D is opened to feed secondary air through a filter 15a to recombustion device 11 through suction negative pressure and mixed with mixture from a fuel nozzle 14 to be burnt. Flame produced through combustion will cause combustion regeneration of DPF6.

    • PURPOSE: To avoid the bouncing of a moving valve system, by using the cam lift to cause only a plunger to slide but keeping a rocker arm at a standstill at the time of stoppage of valve operation in an operation stop mechanism for a poppet valve used as an engine suction or exhaust valve or the like.
      CONSTITUTION: To stop the operation of a poppet valve 12 depending on the working condition of an engine, oil in an actuator 48 is drained by a hydraulic changeover unit (not shown in the drawing) through oil passages 80, 82, 84 and a rod 50 and a piston 46 are pushed leftward by a spring 52. When a rocker arm 10 is turned counterclockwise and the protrusion 74 of a timing plate 62 revolves the plate around a shaft 60 in response to a cam 72 and the engaged part 74 of the timing plate is disengaged from the recess 70 of the rod 50, the rod and the piston 46 are moved leftward. As a result, only a plunger 26 slides but the rocker arm 10 is not swung even if the cam lift is caused. For that reason, the poppet valve 12 is stopped.

    • PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption of an engine having the first and the second intake valves in its combustion chamber, by closing the second intake valve by actuating a hydraulic mechanism for stopping operation of the second intake valve at the time when the oil temperature is lower than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:The first intake system consisting of the first throttle valve 42, the first intake port 12, the first intake valve 16, etc. and the second intake system consisting of the second throttle valve 48, the second intake port 14, the second intake valve 18, etc. are connected to a combustion chamber 10. The first intake valve 16 is associated with the first driving means 52 operated all the time for opening and closing the valve 16. Similarly, the second intake valve 18 is associated with the second driving means 68, to which a control circuit 170 and an oil-temperature switch 162 are connected. Further, the second driving means 68 is provided with a solenoid valve 134 to which lubricating oil from a hydraulic pump 142 is supplied. With such an arrangement, the second intake valve 18 can be rendered inoperative by supplying oil to means 68 when the engine temperature is lower than a predetermined value during low-speed, low-load operation of engine.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a regenerator in which a large amount of Pct can be burned at once in a various sorts of operation states by introducing a portion of exhaust gas and the air in a proper mixing ratio from the downstream side of a DPF through a muffler in the utilization of an intake throttle. CONSTITUTION:When Pct is deposited onto a DPF 2 and the filtration resistance increases, regeneration of DPF 2 is required. A portion of exhaust gas and the air are introduced from the downstream of the DPF 2 through a muffler 11 from an intake throttle 10, and DPF 2 is regenerated by the combustion by a burner. The mixing ratio between the exhaust gas and the air is controlled by adjusting the throttle angle of a control valve 6 behind the muffler 11 according to the operation condition of the engine, and each variation of the O2 concentration and the gas temperature during regeneration is reduced.
