    • PURPOSE:To suppress error in measurement by oppositely disposing transmitting and receiving coils on the outside of a vessel above the surface of molten metal and dividing an output from a molten metal level detector by an output induced in the receiving coil thereby correcting the output from the detector. CONSTITUTION:Receiving coils 4a, 7a of molten metal level detector are disposed in the vicinity of a place where molten steel 1 does not reach, and an AC voltage is applied on a coil 4b from a power supply 5. Voltage induced in a coil 7b is fed through a bandpass filter 8b, a rectifier 9b, and an LPF 10b to produce a DC voltage SVb. Similarly, output from a coil 7a in the level detector is fed through a bandpass filter 8a, a rectifier 9a, and an LPF 10a to produce a DC voltage SVa. A divider 11 calculates a value of SVa/SVb which varies only when the level of molten steel 1 varies because effects of the variation of electrical characteristic values of molds 2, 3 are offset. The value SVa/SVb is then converted through a molten level converter 12 into the level. of molten steel 1.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the title method comprising determining the flow rates of a fuel gas and air fed to each combustion chamber by calculation without providing the chambers with flow meters and determining the target value of the degree of opening of a cock which regulates the flow rate of the mixed gas fed to the chamber. CONSTITUTION:The flow rate ratio is calculated from the detected degree of opening of each cock and the maximum flow rate per cock is determined by calculation from the flow rate ratio. A coefficient K1 is determined from the pressure in a distribution pipe and the overhead pressure in the combustion chamber, and smoothed. The smoothed maximum flow rate is determined, and the flow rate of each cock is determined from the flow rate and the smoothed maximum flow rate. The maximum flow rate per cock is determined from the target value of the pressure in the distribution pipe and the target value of the overhead pressure in the combustion chamber. The flow rate ratio of each cock is determined from the target flow rate and the maximum flow rate of each cock, and the flow rate ratio is converted into the degree of opening of the cock.

    • PURPOSE:To automate measurement and to improve the precision in measurement by setting a plane-shaped heat radiation source above a metal plate to be measured and by determining the thickness of an oxide film on the basis of reflectance calculated from irradiation luminance and reflection luminance, in measurement of the distribution of the thickness of the oxide film of a steel plate strip or the like. CONSTITUTION:In a process of forming an oxide film on the upper surface of a metal plate 5 which is an object of measurement, a plane-shaped heat radiation source 1 is set above the metal plate 5. The distribution of reflection luminance in a reflection image part 4 on the metal plate 5 is measured by a detector 2 using a two-dimensional array element. An arithmetic device 3 calculates reflectance rholambda from irradiation luminance determined from a reflection luminance signal Llambda and a signal of a surface temperature of the heat radiation source 1, by rholambda = Llambda/Llambda0. Moreover, it determines the thickness (d) of the oxide film from an equation d = F(rholambda) which is stored beforehand. A detection wavelength lambda is set to be larger than 4.n.dmax and the reflectance and the thickness of the oxide film are made to correspond to each other, 1 to 1.

A first pouring rate correcting factor ratio 35 is calculated by using the pouring rates 33, heads 34 and the opening degrees of the adjust means. A second pouring rate correcting factor ratio 36 is calculated by using the reducing velocities of the molten steel heads in the storing vessels 2, 7. Sum of the opening degrees 38 in the opening adjust means for keeping the molten steel surface level in the mold to an aimed value is calculated by using each of the calculated values. Prescribed opening degrees 39 are set by using the sum of opening degrees and the aimed pouring ratio.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a double layerer steel plate having clear interface between surface layer and inner layer and excellent surface characteristic by calculating and controlling the detected pouring rate calculated from the average reducing quantity to the wt. of molten steel for surface layer in a tundish so as to keep it to the aimed pouring rate. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 2 for surface layer is cast into the upper part of a mold 4 through a pouring nozzle 3 and the molten steel 7 for inner layer is cast into the periphery of the center position of a DC magnetic field generator 10 of the mold 4 through a pouring nozzle 8. Then, both molten metals are cooled and solidified, then drawn out as the surface layer steel plate 5 and the inner layer steel plate 9 from the lower opening end of the mold 4. On the way of this process, at first, the aimed pouring rate 28 for making the surface thickness constant is calculated. The molten steel pouring rate 17 is detected from the molten steel wt. for surface layer through a load cell 13 and a coefficient vector 20 is calculated from the pouring rate and the setting opening degree 18 of a stopper 11. Further, an observation gain vector is calculated to estimate a condition variable vector 23 and this variable vector is inputted together with a control gain vector 25 are inputted to the pouring rate adjuster 26. In the pouring rate regulator 26, the deviation between the detected pouring rate 17 and the aimed pouring rate 28 is obtd. and the setting opening degree 18 of the stopper 11 is calculated and set.
