    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground coil device for a magnetic levitation type railway capable of preventing collapse of a propelling coil at winding of a cable by reducing damage on the cable surface of the propelling coil in a coil housing part. SOLUTION: The ground coil device for a magnetic levitation type railway is provided with a panel 5 provided on a side wall 2 of a track 1, a levitation coil 6 which is provided to face a superconducting coil 4 mounted on a vehicle 3 travelling in the track 1 and is attached to the panel 5, and a propelling coil 7 which is positioned closer to the side wall 2 side than to the levitation coil 6 and is attached to the panel 5. The panel 5 is made from concrete in which a fitting frame for a coil is formed on the surface facing the superconducting coil 4. A coil housing vessel 8 of resin comprising a coil housing part where the propelling coil 7 is stored between a winding core part and an outer frame part, is fixed to a panel 2 with its bottom part facing the levitation coil 6 side.     • PURPOSE:To see that rainwater does not damage the member around a gap even if it penetrates into the gap and freezes, and facilitate the mounting work of a ground coil by arranging an nonwaterabsorptive elastic member in the gap between the inner face of the mounting hole of the aboveground coil and a mounting coil. CONSTITUTION:The inside diameter D1 of the mounting hole 4b of the insulating armor 4 of a ground coil 2 is made larger than the diameter D2 of the mounting screw 5 buried in a truck structure 1, taking the accuracy of the truck structure 1 into consideration. So, a nonwaterabsorptive elastic member 10 such as silicon rubber, etc., which is made in the shape of a tube having such dimensions that the outside diameter is a little smaller than the inside diameter D1 of the mounting hole 4b and that the inside diameter is a little larger than the screw diameter D2, is arranged in the gap 9 made between the inner face of the mounting hole 4b of the insulating armor 4 and the mounting bolt 5, and then a nut 8 is tightened on the mounting bolt 5 through a plain washer 6 and a spring washer 7. Accordingly, even if rainwater penetrates into the gap 20 between the elastic member 10 and the inner face of the mounting hole 4b and freezes, the elastic member 10 is compressed and deformed, so great force does not act on surrounding member.
